Katatonia Night Is the New Day
I am a huge Katatonia fan, so I've been looking out for this like forever. But with NITND they haven't yet managed to blow me away like they did with Viva Emptiness or The Great Cold Distance. Some songs sound too "whiney" to me. And the only real heavy song on it is "Forsaker" in my eyes. But I heard from a lot of people that this is a grower. So I'll give an update on my final rating. But for now a painful 3.0		3.0

Russian Circles Geneva
A finally they've climbed out of the drag they called "Station". Station was quite boring, with only a few really good songs. With "Geneva" the guys are back on track, and it is quite good. Sure there are still parts on the album that have been done tons of times before. But overall they've managed to create a solid album with some really nice soundscapes.		3.5

Pelican What We All Come to Need
Pelican is a band that's been in the whole postrock/metal genre for years. And for years they've been doing a solid job. They've started off with a typical sludge sound and evolved into a more postrock sound. But the sound never sticked to me, it was good, yes, for a while. But then it was just plain boring to me. And the same (unfortunately) happens with this album. Some songs are awesome, but the most of it are quite boring. And it pains me to say so.		2.5

Between the Buried and Me The Great Misdirect
Awesome mixture of their metalcore sounds, with some serious progressive influences, which they pull of real good. BTBAM is about to become a legend in it's genre. 		4.5
