Fugazi In on the Kill Taker
Fugazi is a very consistent band with a unique sound. In On the Kill Taker is a heavier and noisier affair that builds on what we heard on their last album, Steady Diet of Nothing. There is some interesting noise sections peppered throughout the album, like in the end of "23 Beats Off". Their production is always quite raw, but clear and well-suited to their sound. "Sweet and Low" is a laid-back jam which is the highlight of the record. With a few minor tweaks to their sound, this is par for the course for Fugazi, which is by no means a bad thing at all. 4/5

Veil of Maya's 2015 release, Matriarch, displays a change in vocalist, and with that a change in their sound. The new vocalist is an excellent fit for the band, and the addition of clean vocals adds variety to their music that seemed to be yearning for development after so many years playing in this style. RiFF RAFF NEON iCON
NEON iCON is a hell of a lot of fun, there were a number of solid tracks. The production is great, and it includes quality feature from Childish Gambino. Unfortunately, this offering serves up a few turds that just come off as obnoxious that stop me from giving it a much higher rating. 3.1/5

  • JustinKing I prefer fordirelifesake, as well. Dance.Forget.Pretend.Defend. is really pretty unique. One of the better melodic metalcore albums, in my opinion.
