geasoftime I really suggest you start with Agalloch and Opeth, and then proceed with all the death metal everyone else is reccing you. I feel like if you just submerge yourself in brutal death metal, you'll eventually give up. It's a seriously acquired taste. If anything, go to atmospheric black metal, or melodic death metal first.
