The album title is awesome, this album is awesome, holy fucking shitballs.

Um... cos this music can put a human being in a ennui-like state, and make him all too aware
of the tedious reality of existing. Cos music could be bigger than words and wider than
pictures, but now, if someone said that Mogwai were the stars, I would whole - and heavy -
heartedly object. If the stars had a sound, they would sound like a big fuck you in the
direction of Hardcore Will Never Die. The punishment for this loss of emotion should
be hard, but my blood fails to boil such is the tepidity of the tape that I've heard. I know
one thing... on February 14th the sky will breathe another huge sigh of disappointment... or
something... and with a resigned whimper... will um... urr... mourn again over its short but
magnificent time in the cave.

Mogwai have never been the most consistent band, but luckily their quality has a somewhat
predictable ebb and flow. They never keep you mad at them for too long before reminding you
why you love them. I wouldn't say that Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will ranks
amongst Mogwai's best albums because while it is very good, there is nothing that embeds
itself into your memory like with Young Team and Happy Songs for Happy People
(and even Mr. Beast for that matter), but it is a wonderfully delicate albeit
somewhat loosely wound collection that offers more than what was expected given the tepid
and monotonous The Hawk Is Howling.

Mixing some abrasive stuff ("Rano Pano"), some classic post-rock songs ("You're Lionel Richie", "How to Be a Werewolf") and some "easier" tracks ("White Noise", "Death Rays"), it does not compare with their magnum opus but it's still their best 2010s release by far, more original than Every Country's Sun and more focused than Raved Tapes.

A very simple, yet very fresh sounding music. The overall flow is amazing as is the production. Perfect music for driving or just for the nice evening experience. And the strongest point: RANO PANO. It's my favorite Mogwai track by far. Unique structure - just one riff, but it is simply unforgettable. A truly phenomenal track.

Sad day when a Get Up Kids album earns a higher score then a Mogwai effort....Although I've been a Mogwai fan since Come On Die Young, I too feel they are getting a little bland....wasn't to keen on The Hawk is Howling, and Hardcore is just "safe"in a bad way.... things have seemed to go down hill after Happy Songs.....Never thought I'd say this but Mogwai may need to take a page from Isis's notebook and bow out gracefully...
