An excellent Jimmy Eat World album, Bleed American is also my favorite album by these guys. Yes, "The Middle" was overplayed like crazy on the radio, but I have a lot of positive memories of the song, and it's still a very well-done rock song. "Sweetness" is the album's highlight, with its "If you're listening, whoa-oh, oh-oh-oh!" intro giving way to alternating hard-hitting to softer guitar parts. The chorus is also memorable; its sing-along quality is through the roof. Behind "Sweetness," "A Praise Chorus" reeks of awesomeness, as does "Hear You Me" to a lesser extent, but all four aforementioned tracks are essential listening if you haven't done so already. This is a pretty short record, but all in all, it's incredibly catchy and definitely one of Jimmy Eat World's most memorable albums.

I found some of this album a bit cliche which made them hard to listen to, but some other parts are fun.

I don't know what it is with me and pop-punk, but Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American is an album that just feels right. It shows that pop-punk doesn't have to be immature either.

This album can best be described with 3 adjectives: "Catchy", "Sing-along" & "Memorable". Taking the more accessible aspects out of their previous very good LP 'Clarity' & amping them up a further notch, Jimmy Eat World lay their melodies over strong & often interesting instrumentation. There is arguably not one filler track amongst the 11 songs here and the variety of emotions & styles are impressive throughout. In fact, 'Bleed American' is quite simply the best of its kind in the pop-rock (or power-pop) genre. Recommended Tracks: Bleed American, Get It Faster, The Middle, Hear You Me & Sweetness.

What can I say what I haven't already said about JEW? This is one of the greatest albums of all time. If you do not own it, you are a sad person, and should probably get it...now. It's brilliant! You'll sing every song for weeks. You will love this album, I'm absolutely positively sure.

This is an unnoticable record. At least when played while doing something. "What, over already?" But when you take the time to listen to it, and pay attention to the details that sleep here and there, it's a really entertaining listen. A more Indie/General Rock approach here. First album by Jimmy eat World I ever got, and still so far my favorite of their works.
