5.0 classic | motherofallhubberd | October 23rd 12 | This is how music should sound, absolutely brutal, but with an element of experimentation to its sound. And it was done by Asking Alexandria, a band best known as a death core band that often does something new and different with a usually stale and boring genre. This is a great album from front to back.
The Irony Of Your Perfection is their debut album and really does benefit from this as it is completely different from any other albums of any genre. To call this a classic of the genre would be a complete understatement, as it in reality is something completely different to anything else that has ever been created. This has brutal riffs throughout, being one of the heaviest releases ever put out there for sure. I can not think of a single album with heavier riffs or drumming to date.
The lyrics to this album really speak to people going through a rough time, and i like this, as it pushes them beyond the usual heart breaks and gore of the genre that plagues music of today. Also, the band stays away from the number one cliche in music today-auto tune. There is no auto tune to be found plaguing this particular masterpiece, no, Asking Alexandria are a lot more sensible than that.
The vocals are the real highlight. They are beautiful, jumping from some of the lowest growls of all time to some of the highest screams of all time, and then some beautifully melodic clean vocals that really suit this brand of crazy heavy music that the band has been putting out.
The use of synthesizers is not completely over the top on this album unlike that which would come later. It is used where necessary, and adds a lot of dimensions to this one dimensional shape that i never thought was possible until i heard this release. Its the best album of one of my favorite bands.

3.5 great | krazykyle37 | November 4th 11 | Pretty good album, but its actually not the same asking alexandria as the one we all love/hate... bit of a history lesson, Ben Bruce, guitarist in the current Asking Alexandria, had a band in Dubai. They released this album under the AA name but never toured as AA, and so when he left he made the current Asking Alexandria, they used that same name for the band. TRUE STORY

2.5 average | Alabaster Jones | April 11th 17 | Sometimes an album's reputation precedes it. That happens with critically acclaimed, so-called "classic" albums, but it can also happen with infamous ones. The difference is, while the "classics" are often considered so for good reason, the panned ones are almost never as bad as people would have you believe. And this is very true for The Irony Of Your Perfection, an album considered to be Asking Alexandria's debut. I say considered because the band that made this wasn't really Asking Alexandria, just a one-off project that lead guitarist Ben Bruce decided to create while in Dubai, who broke up a month after the album was released. The Asking Alexandria we know is only called so because Bruce couldn't come up with another name for his new band in the U.K. All I'm really saying is, this isn't some unholy bastardization of all things musical; merely, it's just some adequate, yet very amateurish melodic metalcore. Make what you will of that.

1.0 awful | Xenorazr | February 28th 17 | Imagine you're going to an outdoor concert. The day is thick and humid, your armpits are sweating profusely and the overhead clouds are taking way too much time to purge your reeking flesh. As soon as the concert is about to begin, rain hits the ground like a tidal wave, turning dirt into mud. Someone trips you and in that split-second, lightning hits the speakers, which explode with a reverberating static, and the symbols from the band's drumset cling against your head because fuck you anyway, and amidst it all you realize this split-second just won't end. That's what it's like to listen to The Irony of Your Perfection.

2.0 poor | davezillaMP3 | July 28th 20 | With the debut, i am questioning what AA's problem is, is it the band or the vocalist? before they were copying BMTH and TDWP, they released this genari-core album. One postive i can say about it is it does not get AS BAD as some of the worst albums in their catalog.
