Its as close to a classic as you can get. Cringe is a nearly perfect opening song. It hits all the way through. Has a great mix of tracks that slap you in the face hard, make you think, reminisce of past loves and drinking while you try not to crack your head open on your kitchen floor, to prove that you have brains.rMy favorite tracks off the album (in no order): Nose Over Tail, Cringe, Trouble Breathing, As You Were, San Francisco, Sorry About That and Southern Rock (but pretty much all of them).

Goddamnit is one of punk rock's greatest debuts. While Alkaline Trio matured pretty quickly in their career, I still feel like this is their definitive album. The Alkies always found a way to make depressing and brooding subject matter into upbeat, catchy pop-punk/post-hardcore tracks. Matt Skiba has a great mix of spoken, sung and screamed vocals, along with bitter, cynical lyrics hidden behind radio-ready melodies. Every song on here has some sort of stand-out memorable moments, and the band plays with a relentless fire throughout.

Catchy, Accessible, yet still holding on to that immature punk sound that we expect of the genre. Not the greatest punk album ever made, but this is what I expect when I hear the word 'punk'. Good job Alkaline Trio, your later albums may not be up to par, but with this you hit it out of the park. 4.1/5

I just recently picked up this record and I have to say it is extremely awesome. Well written and a great first effort from the band as a whole. The best song is San Francisco, with its nicely written guitar line that's poppy, yet unsettling at the same time. Overall the album lacks production, but honestly, that's one of the main reasons this album is so good. Its raw, it?s dirty, it pop. Love it.
