Alkaline Trio, hailing from Chicago, was formed in 1997 by ex-Jerkwater drummer Matt Skiba (guitar/vocals), Glenn Porter (drums) and Rob Doran (bass). Shortly before the release of their first studio album, "Goddamnit," they replaced bassist Rob with Dan Andriano. Over their career, they went through two drummers (Porter and ex-Smoking Popes drummer Mike Felumlee) before settling on ex-Suicide Machines drummer Derek Grant in 2001. As of 2010, their latest release is "This Addiction". The band is known for being part of a large circle of Chicago punk bands and has influenced such bands as My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy.
