A turkey, huh? OK, try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first rlook at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, rbobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is rbased on movement like T-Rex - he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Velociraptor. rYou stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from rthe front, but from the side,from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there. rBecause Velociraptor's a pack hunter, you see, he uses coordinated attack patterns and he ris out in force today. And he slashes at you with this...A six-inch retractable claw, like ra razor, on the the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular like a lion, say... rno no. He slashes at you here, or here...Or maybe across the belly, spilling your rintestines. The point is, you are alive when they start to eat you. So you know, try to rshow a little respect.

Though not as easily accessible as its predecessor, Alice in Chains' newest record is a very satisfying continuation of the sound that they established on Black Gives Way to Blue. The slower, relatively sludgy nature of these tracks makes them longer on average, which is only fitting, but the album's total length can be overbearing. It's an issue that could have been avoided, but does not take away any credit from the band's abilities. In fact, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here only strengthens their reputation as a group that never truly disappoints.

At the first listening I was a bit disappointed, I expected something more "evil", but now in less then 24 hours I listened the whole album at least 10 times, it is a masterpiece, those lyrics, those riffs, and that bass, guys this is something more unique than rare, I'll never stop saying that Jerry is probabely one of the most productive musicians of the last 20 years. I simply cannot stop listening to this album, songs like The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Choke are diamonds and i would say the whole album is a miracle! Long Live to AiC, Layne would be proud of what Alice is doing!

While less immediate than 'Black Gives Way to Blue' once songs like 'Hollow', 'Lab Monkey' and 'Breath On A Window' got their sinister, twisted hooks firmly under my skin it started to take up quite a significant portion of my music listening. While it isn't as triumphant as that album it still shows us that 'Alice In Chains' still have the old magic in them.

Considering how repetitive and generic the grunge genre gets, Alice in Chains reaches as far as they can into the murky abyss and pulls out an album that combines the dirtiest of guitar tones with the most polished production available. Not groundbreaking, but quite enjoyable.

Not as immediately awesome as Black Gives Way To Blue was but still a fantastic record. While the first half of the album is stronger than the second, 'Phantom Limb' is easily the album's standout. Something akin to 'A Looking In View'.

I like this album alot. I think its another mature move by Jerry. This is a less metal version of Black gives way to blue, a little closer to dirt.
