  • OmairSh I have a lot of Townsend material I still need to listen to before I get to his latest albums. I'm curious about something, how come people are wanking over Ne Oblivi-whatever the **** because they're an innovative prog band, but not Leprous? Even Haken gets more love
    November 1 12:45 PM
  • OmairSh I've heard the first 2 Haken albums and they're good, but not out of this world. Fans are calling them the future of prog metal. Ummm HELLOOOOO, ever heard of Leprous?
    October 30 08:14 PM
  • OmairSh 15 tracks they are working more on, I hope it's close to Bilateral greatness! They need to release it ASAP. That's a younger prog rock band, apparently they're one's to look out for in the future. I've only heard one song and it was just al right, one of their influences is Pain of Salvation

    August 15 11:36 PM
  • OmairSh Dude check the new Evergrey single out, it's in the news section.
    August 15 11:17 PM
  • OmairSh I think Anathema played it safe with DS, but obviously there's quality on it. The production should have been better though. I don't know my favourite track from it but Lost Song's 1 and 2 are both great. I've heard a few Arcturus songs and I think I remember enjoying them to a certain extent. ICS' vocals are incredible. I'll check Kekal out thanks.
    August 12 10:18 PM
  • OmairSh I used to listen to a bit of black metal. Can you give recs of atmospheric bm? Nice Distant Satellites rating, how'd you like it? :-)
    August 11 11:21 PM
  • OmairSh Wow surprised you managed to wait this long. Well I won't say anything until you've digested it properly :-). I've been on an old school thrash binge. Good old fashioned metal with equally good production qualities. Don't feel like listening to the newer stuff now
    August 7 09:00 PM
  • OmairSh I checked the lotus effect a while back and didn't really get into it, might check this out thanks.
    August 2 10:05 PM

    July 11 10:37 PM
  • OmairSh Dam dude I thought you already had the physical copy of the album. That's coo though, jam it on repeat now (I don't really need to say that I know :P)
    June 18 08:03 PM
  • OmairSh Yeah that discredits the list quite a bit. Also Jim Matheos and Daniel Gildenlow aren't on here, seriously?
    June 5 11:13 PM
  • OmairSh http://www.prog-sphere.com/specials/top-20-songwriters-progressive-metal-prog-sphere/5/ You'll be happy about this
    June 5 05:10 PM
  • OmairSh Well the list has some great vocalists that aren't given enough love like Vinny Cavanagh, D Gildenlow, Karevik, Alder, and of course Einar, so I can respect the list. But yeah Einar, Vinny, and Gildenlow are probably top 3 for me from this list.
    May 31 01:03 AM
  • DarkNoctus both rule!! :] just like you!
    May 17 07:50 PM
  • OmairSh Do you remember streets of rage? ****ing brilliant cover of a song off the first game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZe1BWbXENI. The bass tone is a little too dry but whatever :P
    May 17 06:50 PM
  • OmairSh I remember watching Restless' video 2 or 3 years back and being impressed with the vocals, but not exploring the band. Thank God I finally did.
    May 17 06:29 PM
  • OmairSh But the album is beyond excellent :D. 2.5 years of a better life ;). Yo if you're into electronic/dance I highly recommend Todd Terje's "it's album time". So damn addictive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUOIvT9hzD8, the song gets really good after 2:58
    May 17 06:21 PM
  • OmairSh REPRESEENT! I would have liked to see a higher rating, but hey I don't mind a 4.
    May 17 03:31 PM
  • OmairSh Was just listening to some of the live performances the band have uploaded, and Tobias' absence can be felt. Sucks
    May 12 07:15 PM
  • OmairSh So Tobias left because he was involved in too many projects, and they replace him with someone that's in the same circumstance. They've encountered some instability right after Coal, but the new members are both good. Hopefully the only turbulence now is in their music.
    May 6 07:22 PM
  • OmairSh Tobias has left Leprous!!! They've replaced him with a great drummer but still!
    May 5 07:19 PM
  • jybt Indeed. They're one of the most original bands going around. The Habit of Fire is my top pick, but it's not an easy listen.
    April 29 11:13 PM
  • OmairSh So you are alive. Whats up? I've been in a FW mood lately, bumped a few albums m/

  • OmairSh Even if I lost my mind, I wouldn't give ADHD a 3.5. I think I prefer that to Images and Words
    November 21 08:51 PM
  • OmairSh You 3.5d ADHD....... Payback for me 3.5ing your 5's?
    November 13 10:12 PM
  • demon of surveillance Ohhh okay I'd never seen that soundoff before. And that sucks about the release date, at least it's worth it! And After is a really fantastic album, I didn't know until today that Jørgen Munkeby from Shining (Nor) plays sax on it.
    October 18 07:30 PM
  • demon of surveillance I'm very confused by your "Das Seelenbrechen" soundoff.
    October 18 05:38 PM
  • OmairSh You had torrented it before? Why did you buy it after already listening to it?
    September 21 11:37 PM
  • OmairSh Yeah man that performance was indeed fantastic, love the funky bass tone in between, and love the fact that Mariusz experiments with tones. Mix could be better though. And yeah the band is brilliant, like Leprous they're paving the way for prog of the future. Yeah let ADHD grow on you, album kicks ridiculous amounts of ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soWnOSgfqwY
    August 27 03:07 AM
  • OmairSh Only 4 for ADHD? :-/
    August 27 02:47 AM
  • OmairSh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXD9jKRHs3A Just listen to that organ, My God. You can find the other live performances on youtube
    August 24 02:30 PM
  • OmairSh Yeah Alcest is a high 3.5 to 4, I might have jumped the gun, my rating might drop but the musics good. I think its heavily criticised because it has certain black metal elements and so it's faux bm or too pussy, etc. Yeah dude definitely check out Riversides discog, great prog band. Their latest albums their weakest, I think they continuously got better until the latest album.
    August 23 11:41 PM
  • OmairSh I see a Riverside rating :D. ADHD is their best album imo, prog metal prowess, def check it out. Their debut is more atmospheric and is also very good, very solid band
    August 23 09:33 PM
  • OmairSh So many subtle time sig changes, pretty cool
    August 23 09:32 PM

  • OmairSh His gay impersonation is hilarious Bwooston
    August 2 01:16 AM
  • OmairSh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgOS5G66K_0 ****ing hell Øystein?'s? impersonations are impeccable
    August 1 02:03 AM
  • MajorStupidity Yeah always good to see another fan of Zero hour/Cynthesis. Anytime you combine Rosvold's vocal work with the Tipton brothers you are guaranteed something great.
    June 25 09:56 PM
  • Trebor. Can you generate a "Nude Tayne"
    June 22 03:59 PM
  • jybt But, Persistence of Visions, The Noble Lie, and much of Release The Deity are incredible to flawless, the production is improved, and Erik's vocals and lyrics are as consistently stellar as ever.
    June 14 01:22 PM
  • jybt Re: ReEvolution's lower rating - It feels somewhat like DeEvolution part 2 but less technical and more ambient, which isn't a bad thing but I loved the more dynamic DeEvolution; it tends to have extraneous parts put in such as the instrumental Convergence, and the bass is definitely less overtly impressive probably because Troy is still recovering from his wrist injury. (No more blazing technical bass work for him at present, and as a consequence, Zero Hour is officially over.)
    June 14 01:21 PM
  • conesmoke you da man spag m/
    May 29 09:23 AM
  • OmairSh Leprous is one of the more interesting bands I've discovered of late, I can't describe it. I mean it is prog metal but...
    May 24 11:24 AM
  • jybt Absolutely excited for ReEvolution! Cynthesis is in my top five anticipated albums; the new Amaseffer, Pantommind (assuming its release as planned, despite the band's dissolution), Images of Eden, and Dream Theater are its four competitors in the prog realm.
    April 26 09:00 PM
  • Hawks I didn't even realize they had something coming out. I'm sure it'll be pretty good.
