| DarkNoctus oh mate i bought the LP on first listen. it's stunning. distinctly different but that's what makes it special. it's a lighter, floatier rendition and i think the way he isn't straining his voice like he was before adds a whole new depth to it.
| DarkNoctus totally is. has a timeless, unique sound all of its own. there really is nothing like it.
| DarkNoctus it DOES. man. i cannot *wait* for nova.
| R4zor3dge Also, since you mentioned you're a fan of Doom Metal, I'd strongly recommend Disembowelment - Transcendence into the Peripheral.
| R4zor3dge I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes the more obscure stuff tends to be better. I mean, I think Symbolic is overrated (not that it's bad) and prefer Human to it. Also, that Human Remains album rules, has some of the more eccentric riffs I've heard. Shame they didn't release a full length LP.
| R4zor3dge That Symbolic rating is gonna turn some heads man lol
| DarkNoctus both their albums are 5's for me, i adore them
| brainmelter Hell yeah man that?s sick. I looooooved the cut scenes in that game. I played the game when I was like 7 and they shook me. I remember the actual game being pretty hard tho
| DarkNoctus heck yeah! and, well, the taste on that site has always been really strange. spinning the new record now - super psyched!
| R4zor3dge Nice rate on Anthems. Easily Emperor's best
| Hawks Hell yeah bro both slay. m/
| DarkNoctus it absolutely is! it made the wait feel worth it. i honestly resolved that i'd never hear the record and then suddenly out of nowhere, bam, there it is.
| Hawks I?ve never even jammed Virgin Black honestly lol. But yeah I?m on a huge Toby Driver kick. I?m binging Kayo Dot, maudlin and his solo stuff. Everything that dude touches is pure gold.
| Hawks **** yeah bro get on it, def an amazing way to start the year. They?re easily one of the most unique funeral doom bands I?ve heard. The avant-garde elements are sick.
| OmairSh Honestly I'm not getting into the new Leprous. I'm forcing myself to listen to it, but there's not much replay value for me so far. Dammit Einar
| OmairSh Never heard of discord, might check it out thanks. So you're liking the new Leprous
| OmairSh Yoo, I'm excited because it's Leprous, but at the same time I'm reserving my expectations because Einar is taming the band with every new album. I'm expecting it to be a 3.5 tbh, but wouldn't be surprised if it's a 4. Artwork is different and so is the album title. Anticipating a song release by June.
| Hawks Will def check at some point bro. I'm focusing on 2016 albums until the end of the year. Gotta get my list ready to go lol. Was not expecting to dig that new In the Woods as much as I do though. One of the biggest surprises of the year for me, if not the biggest.
| OmairSh Well....fuk...You weren't supposed to see that rating... The mixing and mastering volume are a major frustration for me. Toronto actually :-). Sucks that you don't have bands coming near you. The smaller bands have an even tougher time in North America. They just visit the major cities. Just hope they become bigger and visit new cities :-D
| OmairSh Saw leprous last night. I was sweating as much as the band members. ****ing amazing night
| DarkNoctus i'm picky with everything, to be fair! so stoked for 40 watt sun and mithras though, been obsessed with the new tracks both bands have released
| DarkNoctus awww man the title track though! and the ween cover! i think the album could have been structured better but it's a really great effort imo!
| DarkNoctus yes, and it's aaaawesome. you'll love it!
| OmairSh Yo Spag check it. Some Pakistani music http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=673174
| DarkNoctus do listen to it, i think you'll like it! also, new album 100% confirms slams
| DarkNoctus i don't want to get too lost in other people's music because i have a LOT of stuff to record before the year is out, i want to put out a new record!
| DarkNoctus hahaha, don't worry! i make jokes about myself, so i can take them ;] i am so so stoked for both mithras and 40 watt sun, the last mithras album blew my mind and i have no doubt this one will too! couldn't help but find that katatonia record really dull, idk. the inside room is one of my favourite records ever so expectations are really high for wider than the sky!
| Egarran I had not heard it for years, but suddenly it jumped out from the shelf. It gives me those Arcturus vibes, only a lot more subtle.
| Egarran May I just recommend Winds - Of Entity and Mind. It shouldn't be as unknown as it is.
| OmairSh Heh yeah you're right, it's weaker than the last two. There aren't a lot of memorable sections and it seems to drag without a real purpose. The production is great though
| OmairSh Oh, interesting. Didn't think haken could manage to pull off a sound close to bilateral. Not sure when i'll check the album. Is it good?
| OmairSh How are you liking it so far?
| OmairSh Glad you're enjoying it so much, I enjoyed it but was a little underwhelmed tbh. Their last two albums are better for me, and after Harvest Moon I was really expecting them to push forward with their sound, but the album isn't as spontaneous as their older albums.
| OmairSh Poppy and good. Album drops in a few days in the US!
| OmairSh Dude https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2lztdrfrcw
| OmairSh And Myrath's new album is coming next month, but I'm sure you already knew that ;-)
| OmairSh The people that leak albums have to be in close relations to the band somehow, and that must really be frustrating for a band. Check Harvest Moon by Votum as well. That's a really good album.
| OmairSh One of my most anticipated releases of the year. They said the album was the heaviest they've done, and I don't mind that (but I'm glad you mentioned Katatonia, meaning they've retained the mellow and darker aspects of their sound still).
| OmairSh WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!! LEAKED ALREADY?!! Must. Resist. Urge. To. Listen
| OmairSh Agreed its a good album. Been a while since I listened to the band.
| OmairSh So that Myrath album is pretty damn good. Lots of catchy choruses and s***
| Hawks Cool bro I'll have to check it.
| Robinanimate Okay, I will give Sgurr some extra rounds then :)
| Robinanimate Well, to be honest I should probably have given the new TC a proper listen. I'm sure I would have liked a lot more if I gave it a few more spins, but since I work as reviewer I just don't have the time to give all bands a fair chance, and TC wasn't my task to to write about. BTW, the new album from Gods Of Eden is pretty awesome, if you like that kind of stuff. I think it is to be released tomorrow, if I remember correctly.
| Robinanimate Oh yes. Arcturian will definitely be my AOTY too. It might actually be my favorite album the last 5 years or so, together with some stuff from Leprous and In Mourning. Unless the new In Mourning is out this year, I am sure Arcturus will be at the top of my list. I heard the new Thy Catafalque btw. It didn't tickle my fancy that much. But I wasn't too into Rengeteg either. Roka Hasa I loved though. As always it was solid of course ...
| OmairSh Haha nope, no Pakicore. But bands play a number of different genres like rock, metal, prog, classical, etc.
| Robinanimate Sorry for late answer. I suck at checking my shoutbox. But anyway, Code is an awesome band, and is probably underrated here as well. They always get good reviews, but most people seems to not appreciate the intricacies of the tunes. I dig it.
| evilford 2.5 average Spag | October 3rd 15 Pfft, More like Close to a Turd Below. One of the WORST albums of all time! gud 1
| OmairSh Yo check it http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=161887
| OmairSh I need to check Myrath's last album out, Merciless Times is so damn catchy.
| DarkNoctus i haven't listened to that much new stuff since being so preoccupied with my own music but this year has had some great doom metal! the new my dying bride is very, very good. i think it could really grow to be one of their best albums with time.
| DarkNoctus it basically sounds as if turn loose the swans was made today, the sound quality of the rip sucks though so i'm going to withhold rating until i hear a proper version
| DarkNoctus i had no idea it leaked, holy s***!! getting on that right this ****ing second!
| DarkNoctus for me it's the tension that 'the thing that made me search' builds, unf
| OmairSh Ah dammit dude, I thought they announced that somewhere. Yeah I guess they've been very consistent with their albums. I think they'll probably start working on it next year or so, I mean the congregation hasn't been out for too long. Well not everyone's got the patience to digest Leprous albums. Plus the congregation is probably their weakest by a little bit. Still great though. Why're trying to get them wiped again?
| OmairSh I need to know your sources, NOW
| OmairSh I guess it can't feel as sincere as the Scandinavians since the forests and weather aren't as dreary :-P
| OmairSh I think for Agalloch stuff you definitely need to be in the right mood. I first listened to the Mantle when I was getting into progressive, black, death metal, so it had a pretty big impact on me. Haven't listened to Agalloch stuff in a while though so I don't know how I'd feel about it now
| OmairSh No doubt about that. That was random btw :-P
| DarkNoctus eh, honestly, i've not been feeling much this year. shape of despair is the best record of the year so far but otherwise it's just been a lot of 'pretty good' records, a few getting a little above that. but then, i've been very busy with my own music so that might have something to do with it
| DarkNoctus *before the end of this year, derp noctus
| DarkNoctus yep, it's due out before this year. they're actually from the town i was born, i know where all their promo pics are taken, haha!
| DarkNoctus they ARE holy s*** why did i put them off for so long
| Hawks I've heard the first 2 albums and the 2 most recent album and love them all. Gotta jam the others soon.
| Hawks **** yeah dude I love Solefald. m/
| TalonsOfFire Absolutely, they're an amazing band. I'll probably post a review of it today or tomorrow
| TalonsOfFire I actually can't watch more than a minute of his interviews, they're so painful to watch. Though it's hilarious to see the other bandmembers squirm in their seats next to him haha
| Robinanimate Thanks for shoutout :) I know, right, I can't believe how good Arcturian is. It might actually be my favorite Arcturus album. Totally addicted to Crashland, Warp
| BallsToTheWall No. I didnt know you could. I ****ing miss Twisted Metal.
| OmairSh Nah he gives bad ratings to albums that have more than 10 ratings. Probably listened to half the album
| OmairSh Aaaaand Congregation's rating drops again
| OmairSh TPS' and Coal's both dropped unfortunately. Sputnik doesn't understand Leprous
| OmairSh Haha, the production is not really bad, but the mixing is like whaaaa. Don't worry the average is still 4.1, unlike Leprous' albums whose average keeps falling -_-.
| OmairSh Don't have a favourite yet, still have to listen to it a few more times. I'm feeling like a 3.5, because the production and mix really let the album down.
| OmairSh It's a good album but I think it's probably the weakest out of the 4 albums. Hopefully they'll take more risks on their next album. Dude the average is barely holding on to a 4. It'll eventually settle at a 3.9 probably. Don't know why that should matter but it does :-P
| OmairSh So a 4 for the congregation eh.
| Egarran Oh man, we need that review.
| OmairSh Listening to the new Arcturus, and I really wish the production and mixing was better. The drumming is really good but is Hellhammer using triggered bass drums? Ekh why. On the 6th song and the music is sounding good so far. ICX's vocals though O_O. This album could be your first review.
| OmairSh Haha it must have been difficult. It boggles my mind how late the US release date is. And yeah dude one listen is nothing, you know the deal with Leprous. I actually love those three songs :-P
| OmairSh I thought you were going to wait till you got the CD!! The Flood and Slave are great, not liking Red too much though. What's your overall impression of the album? In line with the expectations?
| OmairSh Einar's at his best https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT2YSvZ7QWE
| OmairSh Hahaha yeah I still think that a little. But the comment that actually made me think that everyone brought in sketches was Tor's comment to someone else who had the same question. Einar's comment made me think that everyone was "allowed to contribute" but it didn't mean it would end up on the record :-P. I don't know, that's the band dynamic, what can you do. I feel Oystein's contribution has decreased significantly, with less lead sections and solos, etc. Maybe on the next album, lets see
| OmairSh Haha you saw my questions. I couldn't resist asking about the songwriting. But like Einar said, he's been a core part of the composing team since Bilateral, with others contributing as well. And it seems like while everyone brought in musical ideas, they thought Einar's were the ones to work on further, I guess.
| OmairSh Baard's response to songwriting credits. The Price - Einar and Baard. Third Law - Einar and Tor Oddmund. Rewind - Einar. The Flood - Einar. Triumphant - Einar. With My Fence - Einar and Martin Skrebergene. Red - Einar. Slave - Einar. Moon - Einar. Down - Einar and Baard. Lower - Einar.
| OmairSh Leprous AMA is live!!! https://www.reddit.com/r/progmetal/comments/37d19f/we_are_leprous_ask_us_anything_you_want_to_know/
| OmairSh Dude go for it! You'll be surprised at the results. Before you start writing a review you're not sure how it will turn out, but when you start you're surprised at how much you have to say about the album. It might be time to lose your review virginity :-P
| OmairSh The vocalist reminds me of Geoff Tate, and there are some cool and different elements in the music. I'll have to give it a few listens before passing a final judgement of course. Thanks for the POS btw, first feature! And it had to be Leprous :-).
| OmairSh Currently listening to Power of Omens. It's definitely not what I expected so far, in a good way.
| OmairSh Haha thanks. I was in the hopes of getting a feature, but that's probably not going to happen now :-P. So I guess there's no rush now.
| OmairSh I've completed my review, but I'm not sure if I should post it now
| demon of surveillance woops sorry for the late reply, not on here much anymore! yeah new Arcturus is great, I haven't listened to much Leprous yet but what I have heard is great; new Ihsahn this year would be amazing as well
| OmairSh Dam you Spag for giving me that link, now I've gone and cheated :-/. I think I'll be reviewing the album as well.
| OmairSh I've got to check out your recommendations as well. Wasn't in a prog metal mood before, but thanks to Symphony X's new single I think I'm in the right mood to check the stuff now. Another album to check out when you get time is Evergrey's Inner Circle
| OmairSh As with all great albums, it requires time to grow.
| OmairSh Old school Symphony X is really good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsfIVtBt0lA (sound quality doesn't do justice to the production obviously)
| OmairSh They tried to use up most of the capacity of the CD it seems. I see another high rating for the album on sputnik now. *fingers crossed
| OmairSh Woah dam! I'm going to buy the mp3 version anyway but I'm tempted to hear this. I actually didn't expect it to leak now
| OmairSh Dam that link has 30 second previews of all the tracks. I checked a few but I wanted to listen to the album properly so I stopped. Not long now.
| Egarran Thy Catafalque wants to be on my playlist. It's a very competitive time though - I still listen to Arcturus whenever I can, but it really sounds great (I've heard T?n? Id? Tárlat). The only other Hungarian band I know is Without Face. I'm a fan of their Astronomicon album (it's on YT). It's more goth-prog though.
| Egarran You should check out Kovenant - Nexus Polaris. Symphonic spacey BM, actually a lot like Arcturus. But not as cool of course, and it may not have aged so well. Still, I ****ing love it.
| OmairSh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpQ8Kqzuvm8
| OmairSh Yeah Baard has his own band as well. I thought the reason Tobias left Leprous was because he had too many other projects. Hopefully they won't have revolving doors for their drummers like they have for their bassists. I'm sure Baard would prefer Leprous over Borknager if it ever came to that. Martin didn't even record the bass parts before leaving. Dam you have quite a few albums to look forward to.
| OmairSh And I envy your ability to enjoy albums you want to, harumph! You have at least 2 albums you'll love this year thanks to Arcturus.
| OmairSh Btw second half of Rewind is pretty damn good, especially the last couple of minutes (intense as you'd expect from Leprous). Einar using his new screams, sounding cool. And Baard's performance on Rewind (minus some less fluid drum fills) is pretty badass, especially on the last section. I love the snare hitting pattern as well as the china hits in combination with the double bass. That combo gives the whole section a really cool groove.
| OmairSh For me Bilateral is better than TPS, which is much better than Coal. Coal is a good album but it doesn't have as much flavour and aventure as the other two. With regards to the new album, like you said there are 10 more songs and I'm sure there will be some great material there, but I'm not ridiculously excited like I was before the first single. I just hope Einar doesn't **** this great band. Still have to wait a WHOLE ****ing month to finally find out.
| OmairSh ****ing sputnikd pretty much my whole comment just because it doesn't like "greater than" signs -_-
| OmairSh But I'm jumping the gun, I'll wait for the album to come out before I go on a rant (which I hopefully won't have to go anyway)
| OmairSh Yeah I know they won't be able to top Bilateral, but I'm hoping for a better album than Coal for a start. It doesn't have to be as crazy as Bilateral or TPS, but I want there to be challenging and refreshing music. I'm hoping for experimentation with tones, arrangements, cool guest instruments, etc. I think my expectations for the band were too high after TPS and Bilateral, but with such stellar albums we already know the music they're capable, that's the problem.
| Egarran I'm so overjoyed there's a new Arcturus out that I'm posting this gibberish here EEEHEHEHHEEEE you're now my favourite sputniker.
| OmairSh It's good but I've lowered my anticipation of the album after these two songs. Rewind's obviously more challenging, but if this is one of the more dynamic songs on the album, then I'm guessing the album won't be very adventurous. I think Einar will play it safe. He's repeating song structures, I'm guessing there won't be guitar solos (like on Coal), and the vocals seem much more prominent as compared with the music. I knew I'd be a dick about this album if I wasn't happy with the first single.
| DarkNoctus definitely better but both tracks have disappointed me a bit... i hope they make more sense in the context of the album!
| OmairSh Looks like Leprous isn't going to let you wait to the listen to the album upon it's release :-P
| Yeah simpler doesn't have to mean bad, but I'm just worried that the band might eventually lose that crazy edge that made me fall in love with them. I mean I don't expect another Bilateral or TPS, I just want the music to be interesting. I know it's way too early to be worried about that since the album isn't even out yet. Still over a month to go dammit!!
| OmairSh http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2015/04/21/einar-solberg-of-leprous-the-heavy-blog-is-heavy-interview/ So the album will be simpler -_-.
| OmairSh Guess they're cutting down the instrumental sections and focusing on "songs." Where'd you find the track lengths from?
| OmairSh Some more snippets!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYGC0SZI1fs . I'm still holding back my excitement. Dam, looks like Martin got kicked out the band before even recording his bass parts. And friggin hell it looks like Einar likes the staccato riffing
| Lord(e)Po)))ts no just have it bookmarked so it might be a while ive got a long queue :/
| Thor yeah dude, I'm interviewing them for Heavy Blog Is Heavy on Friday
| OmairSh AIGHT I'LL CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!!
| Wizard I found it in the database here and it looks like tech-death (not the biggest fan of tech-death). I will give them a go.
| OmairSh Also I've watched the video like 20 times at least, I need to stop. I seriously love the verses and wouldn't mind more moody sections like that!!!
| OmairSh And even if the album is fantastic, one thing's for sure, EINAR NEEDS TO STOP HOGGING SONGWRITING DUTIES FROM NOW ON! You've got at least two other incredibly talented composers and suppressing them will only frustrate them and may even cause them to leave. Einar, Tor, and Oystein are the backbone of the band and NEED to remain in the band at all costs.
| OmairSh I know I know, you know I'm going to over analyse because it's ****ing LEPROUS!!! Yeah I was hoping they'd choose a single more in the vain of Restless (that was an incredible single). Anyway they did say the album will be dark and twisted as reflected by the artwork, I'm still expecting that. If this album is safe then Einar is getting a VERY strongly worded e-mail!!! Also 8 stringed guitars are great and all, but I want them used a lot less for the core elements of the song compared to Coal.
| OmairSh Haha you couldn't even wait a day!! I've posted a news article, but the video is still unlisted so it's not being embedded in the article. The verse is stunning and the chorus is good, but it's a bit conservative. I keep waiting for a climax, but it doesn't come, and the verse melody is repeated too often and kind of loses it's novelty by the end. Still a cool song, but it didn't make me s*** my pants in excitement for the album. This album needs to be better than Coal dude!!
| Hawks To each his own my man. m/
| Hawks Hahahaha sorry dude it just doesn't click with me, not bad though. But yeah of course lol.
| OmairSh It's okay, I won't tell you how the single was. I got your back :-P
| OmairSh LEPROUS VIDEO BEING RELEASED NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!! Oh I mean, the album's being released in June....yayy.... :-D
| Hawks So I decided to write up a review for Drawn, check it out when you can bro. m/
| Hawks I was thinking about writing something up, but I'm not too good either so I'd rather have someone else write one and do it justice haha.
| Hawks I'm trying to get Atari to write a review for it. I rec'd it to him like a week or so ago and he digs it hard as well. Hopefully it'll get some more exposure.
| OmairSh Well I don't think you could do it simply because the music video is going to be released next month most probably :-P. You could try to though, you'd only have to wait ONE WHOLE MONTH longer, that's all. The tag was removed probably because people decided to untag it, and that's why you and I need to bring it back. I think 2 tags should be enough. And there are easier ways to wipe the ratings :-D. Why the wipe btw?
| OmairSh Longest Leprous album to date......I'm excited but a little anxious at the same time. I mean it's bloody Leprous so I should be over the moon (plus TPS was 63 minutes and it was fantastic). But maybe it's good I'm lowering my expectations just a liiiiiittle bit. If it's as good as TPS then Leprous will have to be considered the best modern prog band. Yo dude, for some reason the "experimental" tag has been removed from Leprous, TAG IT!!
| Hawks That's a tough one man, they're all great. I'd say A-scape if I had to choose though.
| OmairSh Yeee boi I saw, looks fanbloodyTASTIC!! It was the same artwork they used for their European tour poster. It doesn't really fit the album name, but it's pretty cool. Hopefully 65 minutes won't feel too lengthy and I'm hoping it'll be a dark album. Now they should hurry the hell up and release the damn video!
| Hawks Sounds good man I'll check them. m/
| Hawks Sweet bro I'll get on it.
| Hawks It's honestly so good. First album that has really blown me away in a while.
| Hawks Dude that Drawn album from your list is ****ing awesome. I'm jamming it now and loving it.
| OmairSh Nicee, ICS will kill it in the vocal department for sure. 2015 is looking good. SW is releasing his today, Enslaved in March. And did you see leprous' fb post? Snippets off the new album?!! Yes please!
| OmairSh Probably the opening lyric of the album
| OmairSh I have a bad feeling another Leprous bassplayer has departed. Last photo session without the bassists was proof of that. Why do I get the sneaky suspicion that it's difficult to work with Einar?
| OmairSh I'll hopefully be motivated enough to check SW and Enslaved
| OmairSh "The Congregation", I really like that title. May 25th is so far away!!!! :-(. The thing I'm most anxious about is Einar is the primary songwriter. I hope he doesn't become a dickhead dictator and hog all of the writing duties in the future. It would be a damn shame considering the band has at least two other fantastic songwriters in Tor and Oystein.
| OmairSh Glad he liked Leprous, it's such a polarising band because of how long it takes to digest the music.
| OmairSh Yo yo yo what up? Leprous has finished recording their album and is in the mixing stage. Omg yes Omg yes Omg yes Omg yes Omg yes Omg yes
| OmairSh I have a lot of Townsend material I still need to listen to before I get to his latest albums. I'm curious about something, how come people are wanking over Ne Oblivi-whatever the **** because they're an innovative prog band, but not Leprous? Even Haken gets more love
| OmairSh I've heard the first 2 Haken albums and they're good, but not out of this world. Fans are calling them the future of prog metal. Ummm HELLOOOOO, ever heard of Leprous?
| OmairSh 15 tracks they are working more on, I hope it's close to Bilateral greatness! They need to release it ASAP. That's a younger prog rock band, apparently they're one's to look out for in the future. I've only heard one song and it was just al right, one of their influences is Pain of Salvation
| OmairSh http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/187765/9
| OmairSh Ah in that case it makes sense. Actually I'm probably in the minority with regards to Watershed
| OmairSh yeah 7 now. Dam you had Watershed at a 5? I think its their weakest along with PC.
| OmairSh Finally got the balls to bump TPS and Bilateral ratings. It felt plain wrong not 5ing Bilateral
| Lethean that manes album is gonna be slept on hard easily top 10 albums this year
| OmairSh Nah dude I don't :/. Last console I owned was a PS2. Now it's used for collecting any extra dust thats in my cupboard.
| OmairSh F.U.C.K YES http://www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/leprous-will-hit-the-studio-in-november-for-a-new-record
| OmairSh :P which song did you replace it with? I have yet to hear their debut
| conesmoke Dude I am so ready. I'm going to devs guitar clinic in October too :), should be great
| Voivod Yeah, I've been waiting for the new PS album too. I like all their albums, but Mosquito stands as the first among equals.
| Voivod Yeah, their discog consists of classics only. Did you check them out?
| OmairSh THEN PAIN OF SALVATION ON SATURDAY WITH A MEET AND GREET!!!!!!
| OmairSh GOING TO SEE LEPROUS TOMORROW!!!! MY ASS IS READY!!
| OmairSh What genres are they? I want to review Dark Tranquillity's DVD but need to get in the mood
| OmairSh Dude check the new Evergrey single out, it's in the news section.

| OmairSh I think Anathema played it safe with DS, but obviously there's quality on it. The production should have been better though. I don't know my favourite track from it but Lost Song's 1 and 2 are both great. I've heard a few Arcturus songs and I think I remember enjoying them to a certain extent. ICS' vocals are incredible. I'll check Kekal out thanks.
| OmairSh I used to listen to a bit of black metal. Can you give recs of atmospheric bm? Nice Distant Satellites rating, how'd you like it? :-)
| OmairSh Wow surprised you managed to wait this long. Well I won't say anything until you've digested it properly :-). I've been on an old school thrash binge. Good old fashioned metal with equally good production qualities. Don't feel like listening to the newer stuff now
| OmairSh I checked the lotus effect a while back and didn't really get into it, might check this out thanks.
| OmairSh SELL ALL YOUR BELONGINGS!!! BOOK THAT FLIGHT!!
| OmairSh OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG LEPROUS IS COMING TO CANADA IN SEPTEMBER OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! **** YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
| OmairSh Dam dude I thought you already had the physical copy of the album. That's coo though, jam it on repeat now (I don't really need to say that I know :P)
| OmairSh Yeah that discredits the list quite a bit. Also Jim Matheos and Daniel Gildenlow aren't on here, seriously?
| OmairSh http://www.prog-sphere.com/specials/top-20-songwriters-progressive-metal-prog-sphere/5/ You'll be happy about this
| OmairSh Well the list has some great vocalists that aren't given enough love like Vinny Cavanagh, D Gildenlow, Karevik, Alder, and of course Einar, so I can respect the list. But yeah Einar, Vinny, and Gildenlow are probably top 3 for me from this list.
| OmairSh Do you remember streets of rage? ****ing brilliant cover of a song off the first game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZe1BWbXENI. The bass tone is a little too dry but whatever :P
| OmairSh I remember watching Restless' video 2 or 3 years back and being impressed with the vocals, but not exploring the band. Thank God I finally did.
| OmairSh But the album is beyond excellent :D. 2.5 years of a better life ;). Yo if you're into electronic/dance I highly recommend Todd Terje's "it's album time". So damn addictive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUOIvT9hzD8, the song gets really good after 2:58
| OmairSh REPRESEENT! I would have liked to see a higher rating, but hey I don't mind a 4.
| OmairSh Was just listening to some of the live performances the band have uploaded, and Tobias' absence can be felt. Sucks
| OmairSh So Tobias left because he was involved in too many projects, and they replace him with someone that's in the same circumstance. They've encountered some instability right after Coal, but the new members are both good. Hopefully the only turbulence now is in their music.
| OmairSh Tobias has left Leprous!!! They've replaced him with a great drummer but still!
| jybt Indeed. They're one of the most original bands going around. The Habit of Fire is my top pick, but it's not an easy listen.
| OmairSh So you are alive. Whats up? I've been in a FW mood lately, bumped a few albums m/
