  • OmairSh Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I need to comment less on Riverside threads, give other people a chance :P.
    July 29 12:04 AM
  • YakNips alright sweet dude, hope it grows on you
    July 28 03:02 PM
  • YakNips dude i'm not gonna lie to you, first time I heard JD the vox totally turned me off. There's actually quite a few skramz bands where the vox turned me off at first... BUT idk if it'll be the same for you, I just kept coming back to JD because they had something alluring about them, and they grew on me so much that at one point they were all that I listened to. Idk I see something really special in that album, but I had to get used to the vox first. I feel you.
    July 28 02:16 PM

    July 25 10:36 AM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah I almost never listen to this genre but I was pretty underwhelmed by it, at least compared to the kind of electronica I'm used to like half of Radiohead's discography. But I know next to nothing about the genre besides that so I'm probably just missing something
    July 25 10:07 AM
  • aok ur name says unPleb but ur more like superpleb. bro u even listen to radiohead?

    July 23 04:12 PM

    July 20 03:36 PM
  • PitchforkArms Hell yeah man. What's you been jamming from 2014??
    July 20 03:34 PM
  • PitchforkArms Can't even wait to see the top 150 dude. 200-151 really piqued my interest, a lot of similar opinions and tastes!
    July 20 02:05 PM
  • BMDrummer Yup, best Swans

    July 14 05:18 PM
  • BigPleb Hahaha no buddy, you go for it!
    July 14 02:22 PM
  • mkamrass No problem man.
    July 14 12:56 PM
  • mkamrass For this last rec, I highly encourage you to check it out for the sake of checking something new out.Diapsiquir - A.N.T.I. (It is actually not what you are looking for except for on one level: it is HIGHLY experimental. To be honest, it is one of weirdest albums I have heard if not the weirdest.)I hope this all helps and have fun.
    July 13 08:41 PM
  • mkamrass For the rest of what I am going to give you, these next recs will be more half and half for you where each album holds some of what you are looking for and some of what you are not probably not looking for, but I am not completely sure of course.Thorns - Thorns (In my opinion, this is the best industrial black metal album I have heard)Control Human - Terminal World PerspectiveThy Catafalque - Tuno Ido Tarlat
    July 13 08:35 PM
  • mkamrass OK man, so based on what you say you want, I think I have some pretty good recs here for you and actually some of which were suggested to you on your list by others.Blut Aus Nord - MoRt (it is highly experimental and atmospheric; it almost sounds improvised at times; it is also an album in the band's discography that people either hate or love.) Sun of the Blind - Skullreader (it has some good atmosphere)The Axis of Perdition -d Scenes From Transition Hospital
    July 13 08:22 PM
  • adr Converge 666 plays hail cnvrge
    July 13 08:20 AM
  • OmairSh Dude that's an unfair comparison. It's not THAT level, but it can hold its own pretty well :-)
    July 13 07:41 AM
  • OmairSh Yo check it
    July 13 07:33 AM
  • SadAndHolyGlow Zao! YES!
    July 12 08:53 PM
  • mkamrass Hey man, I saw your industrial black metal list and I was excited to see someone else who a has curiosity for the genre. Industrial metal genre is honestly my favorite genre as a whole, but I especially love industrial black metal and I find more albums/bands to listen to all the time of the genre. I saw that people gave you some pretty good recs but still not a whole lot. Do you want some more recs?
    July 11 07:08 PM
  • Feather Ferris Wheel is awesome! It also is the only release with my favorite NMH song "Oh Sister". The whole thing is the perfect extension of Aeroplane. btw now that I realize people actually look at my ratings I should do a bit of updating.
    July 10 03:04 PM
  • Emyay i probably shouldn't have rated sunbather at all. i really really want to see somethin special in it. i haven't yet, but at the same time i haven't really listened / devoted too much time to it. its very inaccessible to these ears which makes it hard to sit through
    July 10 02:53 PM
  • Emyay yeah man, for sure. i still need to go back and check some from your "songs that give me chills" list. i check your profile every now and then bc i respect your taste and usually find some gems by following your lead
    July 10 02:20 PM
  • JokineAugustus Damn! That's sick. Obviously you know how much I love them haha.
    July 8 12:58 AM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah I guess I have all of their's except for the very first one, but is that the best place to start?
    July 7 06:47 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Funny you say that cause I just discovered their newer albums and love them, haven't checked their older ones yet but I have them and my understanding is their closer to traditional BM?
    July 7 05:53 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Thanks I'll check those, also I tried to find that Gris album but couldn't find it anywhere. But it's probably on YouTube or something
    July 7 05:47 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah totally, along with some of the classics I love atmospheric stuff like that new one Tekeli-li and Abigail Williams, so if you know of any stuff like that I'd probably love it
    July 7 04:57 PM
  • JokineAugustus Ya check Breaking The Fourth wall. How are you liking Zao so far?
    July 7 04:30 PM
  • TalonsOfFire The bands I had listed was all the bm I'm into (including his list), I thought that had most of the best/classic ones (and a ton of genrebenders), but if you know of others hmu. Pretty much all of mine I posted in his list, there's some great underground stuff in there if you haven't heard of all of them
    July 7 04:28 PM
  • JokineAugustus Awesome. We seem to agree on a lot of bands. Have you checked Beecher before? Fear rec'd it to me a while back and damn they rule. In the vein of Converge/Every Time I die.
    July 7 03:24 PM
  • Mongi123 Cool, I'll definitely give that a try soon then
    July 1 10:14 AM
  • Mongi123 That's what I've been told. I don't mind wankery if it's done right but DT seems to do that just to like say "Hey look how good at guitar we are" haha
    July 1 10:02 AM
  • Mongi123 Cool got lots of stuff to jam out to now. The post rock/indie rock/emo combo seems made for each other haha. I'm trying to get back into DT too. Idk they're cool but pretty overly technical IMO. Metropolis PT 2 and a change of seasons are sweet.
    June 30 04:27 PM
  • Mongi123 But man, A Bunny's Caravan is simply astounding. What an album they've created there. It's really a shame they broke up though :/
    June 30 03:31 PM
  • Mongi123 I definitely want to. As awesome as that album was, it wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be or as affecting as Isis would be. Was something missing from it that would make it truly special to me. The title track was ****ing insane though.
    June 30 03:25 PM
  • Mongi123 Cool bro, you mean my most recent ones?
    June 30 01:32 PM
  • Mall i still do! just cba to rate everything
    June 29 06:33 AM
  • SadAndHolyGlow No problem. And yeah, it's a classic.
    June 28 02:48 AM
  • SadAndHolyGlow Hey, man. I'm sure you get this a lot, but nice profile pic.
    June 27 08:50 PM
  • OmairSh Ashes (official video), Ashes (live), Diffidentia, Hand full of nothing
    June 24 02:06 AM
  • OmairSh Remedy Lane is a little more accessible while the Perfect Element gives a good picture of what the bands all about. TPE's my favourite from them. Either of the two will be a good start, maybe some sput reviews will help you decide :P
    June 23 11:09 AM
  • OmairSh Dude have you heard of Pain of Salvation?
    June 22 11:57 PM
  • Dodenakker Very different from Oathbreaker and Amenra, but they've toured along them when I saw them. I guess the best band to compare them to would be Swans. Their music is very dark, moody, and very brooding. Listen to the album "Har Nevo" for a good impression. Their sound is very tribal and well.. almost ritualistic.
    June 20 09:54 AM
  • Dodenakker I've listened to it the day that it came out, had it per-ordered as well. They definitely put a lot of effort into that album. Do you know The Black Heart Rebellion?
    June 19 12:56 PM
  • Dodenakker I saw them together with Amenra! One of the most satisfying and intense shows I've ever been to. That girl is freaky as hell. And kinda hot. And somewhat frightening.
    June 19 12:51 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea dude A Simple Mistake and Summer Night Horizon. And you should man. They records totally contrast each other perfectly. Judgement is about pessimism and WHBWH is all about optimism and loving life.
    June 19 10:43 AM
  • Mongi123 So yea, We're Here Because We're Here is amazing. Don't know if I like Judgement or WHBWH better or not haha
    June 18 07:18 PM
  • Mongi123 This is definitely a discography I'll have to check though. Judgement kinda reminded me of PT at some points.
    June 12 09:55 AM
  • Mongi123 You mean the LP one or the Dead Letter Circus one? And yes Judgement is beautiful, but bleak. I love it.
    June 12 09:43 AM
  • Mongi123 If you want a good intro to LP though try out The Little Things Give You Away. It's a beautiful track and has their best lyrics IMO
    June 12 09:19 AM
  • Mongi123 Wasn't expertly you to love it really, you either you love or hate them haha. People on this site need to realize that it's ok to like them, they get too much hate. However yes, lyrics are pretty bad lol. I do plan on listening to that album again though, don't quite remember lots of it.
    June 12 09:13 AM
  • Mongi123 *Yndi Halda
    June 11 11:32 AM
  • Mongi123 I've been think of trying out that Ynda Hadi album again. Been seeing that bumped a lot and it got me thinking idk.
    June 11 11:31 AM
  • Mongi123 Here check this song the album's best song imo
    June 8 10:48 AM
  • Mongi123 Check them man I think you'll love them. This Is The Warning is really ****ing engaging and there's some awesome drumming and guitar work on it.
    June 8 10:45 AM
  • Mongi123 Sup man, just wondering you ever listen to Dead Letter Circus?
    June 7 08:04 PM
  • OmairSh LOVE SO STROOOOOOONG IT HUUURRTS. Addicted to that part, Vinny is the man, nothing more needs to be said.
    June 6 07:16 PM
  • OmairSh It lacks the usual Anathema passion imo. Feels a bit manufactured. It's not bad, but not as good as I wanted it, especially after WS (which for me is their best album). And the production isn't very refined, feels a little glittery (especially the vocals). The electronic elements are basic and don't add anything special to the music, they actually ruin the t/t for me. I was expecting really cool and edgy electronic elements. Also I hate programmed drums in a band setting, real drums all the way.
    June 6 06:44 PM
  • Mongi123 Sure man I'll try to get to it later. I've had a lot of stuff going on these past couple of days.
    June 6 03:08 PM
  • OmairSh I wanted distant satellites to be better
    June 5 10:59 PM
  • OmairSh What a coincidence, I have a week off as well m/
    June 5 05:10 PM
  • OmairSh Been around, busy. Haven't come on here much. Just finished breaking bad. Watched the last 6 episodes today. Hows it going with you?
    June 4 10:49 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea most of the album was thoroughly epic
    June 2 01:42 PM
  • Mongi123 Listened to it two times in a row this morning it's awesome. Especially Cleansing xD
    June 2 01:27 PM
  • Mongi123 Cool, the reception hasn't been great but I'm still looking forward to tryin it.
    May 20 12:20 AM
  • Mongi123 Have you tried Serpent yet?
    May 19 04:08 PM
  • Mongi123 The album is totally listenable but I just didn't find it as interesting as The Mantle or Ashes. Just didn't do anything for me. The Mantle and Ashes had that certain something and passion that made the songs go places. Can't really explain it, but it just wasn't there on Marrow for me.
    May 19 04:02 PM
  • Mongi123 Umm because it really dragged a lot? Don't know why that's so surprising haha I really feel no incentive to come back to it. Not bad, just REALLY slow
    May 19 03:53 PM
  • mindleviticus So is it a misconception that virtually all finns are metalheads or is that accurate?
    May 18 12:28 PM
  • BigPleb i'm only messing with you brother, its what sput is for ;]
    May 12 10:39 AM
  • BigPleb cmon dude, its brawl time :P
    May 12 10:33 AM
  • mindleviticus I didn't like The Downward Spiral that much either man haha
    May 10 07:44 PM
  • mindleviticus At least someone doesn't like Nine Inch Nails as much as I ;}
    May 10 07:18 PM
  • Mongi123 Oh yea that's true. Idk I've only heard his first three albums and his most recent but what have you got to lose by trying it? It's also very long too so idk haha
    May 7 09:08 AM
  • Mongi123 Yea if you don't like industrial stuff you definitely won't like any other NIN honestly. At least you tried it though.
    May 6 09:55 PM
  • Mongi123 First of all, the album is not about Trent himself. Though there are parallels, it's a masterful tale someone's fall into madness and then eventually suicide. It also has an amazing sinister mood throughout(despite A Warm Place being beautiful as ****) as well as being a high point for industrial music.
    May 6 09:29 PM
  • Mongi123 Aww dude that's a low rating for The Downward Spiral :/ what don't you see in that record?
    May 6 08:10 PM
  • OmairSh Better qualty than their first DVD, but the mix is congested,Riverside-i-nowe-pokolenie-muzyczne-Zobacz-wideo
    May 5 09:49 PM
  • OmairSh Yeah I know, it feels pretty stagnant. I love Lee's vocals, she sounds a little different. Hopefully there are some twists and turns on the other songs
    May 4 01:04 PM
  • OmairSh Lookie what I found
    May 3 11:48 PM
  • ArsMoriendi In all honesty, based on my reaction to Aenima, even though I like it, I doubt Tool will ever be one of my favorites. However, I have gotten into some artists that I now love due to Sputnik (Camel, Kate Bush etc.), I go at my own pace, which may be slower than most users on here, but I feel like I end up appreciating the albums I hear more that way. I don't know what else to say other than the fact that my Itunes has over 300 hundred albums... which might be a low to you, but whatever...
    April 29 04:33 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Well, since your exaggeration was so drastic and untrue, it didn't really prove anything. I like plenty of bands dude, it's more like this site only likes to discuss the same 20 bands... and I'm only into 10/20 of them.
    April 29 04:19 PM
  • ArsMoriendi 10? I just thought of 50 bands off the top off my head that I listen to, so that's clearly not true.
    April 29 04:11 PM
  • ArsMoriendi ?
    April 29 03:23 PM
  • Mongi123 See that's how I feel about Ecailles xD It's beautiful, touching and passionate. Neige is a talented dude. Anyway I will def try that again at some point.
    April 29 02:28 PM
  • Mongi123 Oh yea totally. Speaking of shoegaze/black metal I gotta try Sunbather again since I loved the style so much on Ecailles.
    April 29 02:15 PM
  • Mongi123 Ulver wasn't a joke to me haha the pure part of the genre certainly has substance, it's just that the fusion of shoegaze or folk metal kinda gave it the kind of substance I wanted from it ya know?
    April 29 02:06 PM
  • Mongi123 I was just reading about pure black metal, blast beats are typical for the genre apparently haha don't know if it will be my thing unfortunately. I may try the album for s***s and giggles but I prob won't give it a high rating :/
    April 29 01:54 PM
  • Mongi123 Coulda been a little shorter but that was really sweet!
    April 29 01:48 PM
  • Mongi123 Anyway almost done jam my arms your hearse now and OMG
    April 29 08:22 AM
  • Mongi123 I wish I could get that album man. I tried giving it time but I just don't see what everyone else sees.
    April 29 08:02 AM
  • Mongi123 And the defining album really? I always though that aeroplane(even thoug I don't get it) and devil and god were sputs defining albums
    April 29 07:31 AM
  • Mongi123 I tried it once and immediately turned it off a while back of course lol but yea I was certainly thinking about it. It basically pioneered metalcore yea?
    April 29 07:12 AM
  • BigPleb Arty, can we be friends pls? :/
    April 29 04:26 AM
  • Rowan5215 Dude like I said in the review I've been listening to it for something like three years now and I still find little hidden piano melodies or vocal harmonies that I never noticed before, its unbelievable the amount of layers it has. It'll just get better with every listen bud
    April 29 03:04 AM
  • OmairSh Fvck
    April 28 04:50 PM
  • avonbarksdale221 yo man who cares if you are a "generic sputnik hipster", jam what you wanna jam. I get pretty much all my recs from here and Im completely comfortable with that, ive found so much good music I never would have otherwise.
    April 28 07:42 AM
  • OmairSh I'm not too familiar with the genre, but yeah I think they're one of the bigger names
    April 28 03:23 AM
  • OmairSh You mean the genre? Cuz this ain't Daft Punk
    April 28 03:18 AM
  • OmairSh ****ing hell dude I'm adickted, especially 3:24
    April 27 09:10 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm certainly gonna try it all man. Gotta prepare for their new album anyways which sounds awesome
    April 27 05:20 PM
  • Mongi123 I can't decide which one I like better: SL or GR
    April 27 04:03 PM
  • Mongi123 It certainly has some sweet parts on the album I'll give it that. My mind is always open so yea maybe in the future something will click. In the meantime though, holy crap Opeth keeps growing, BWP continues to amaze me.
    April 27 03:59 PM
  • Mongi123 Well that's disappointing, I guess black metal fusion bands are more for me then like Agalloch.
    April 27 03:52 PM
  • Mongi123 Is most straight up black metal like that? Not that he was a bad drummer by any means, but his intensity was very jarring with the music. I liked the singers cleans and screams though.
    April 27 03:48 PM
  • Mongi123 Trying out Ulver's debut, gonna spin it again right now but damn, sorry to say it but don't really like it. The drumming really destroys it for me unfortunately :/ I loved the Capital 1 and 4 but the rest, not that much.
    April 27 03:39 PM
  • OmairSh Yyyyyeeeeaa boiii. Been listening to different things, music mood has been swinging recently, and thats a good thing. What are your plans for the holidays?
    April 27 03:03 AM
  • OmairSh Things be aight. Eating, drinking, walking, pooping, the regular stuff
    April 27 02:47 AM
  • OmairSh That intro keyboard tone it going dude?
    April 27 01:19 AM
  • NightProwler Needless to say, I cannot wait :)
    April 19 10:16 AM
  • NightProwler It is here in Denmark as well, but I'm actually going to Groezrock festival that day, so even more excited than usually!
    April 19 10:02 AM

    April 19 09:36 AM
  • NightProwler Sweet man, where are you at? I'm great too, although I'm at work atm. Sad to gaze out upon such beautiful weather and not be able to participate in anything before 8 o'clock tonight. Oh well, I get off early tomorrow. Hopefully the sun will continue to shine by then!

    April 17 10:44 AM
  • Mongi123 Well I'll take that! Idk album just gets me everytime. Especially the final track and the second half of t/t pt2
    April 17 10:36 AM
  • Frippertronics thanks for the rating bruv
    April 17 07:18 AM
  • Mongi123 Cool. Hit me up with what you think.
    April 16 05:30 PM
  • Mongi123 Duuuuude please try ecallies. It's stunning, especially the second half of track 2. It blows shelter away trust me
    April 16 05:16 PM
  • Mongi123 Gotta barrel my way through opeths discography first! Also how you feel about ecallies? One of the most beautiful records I've ever came across
    April 16 05:06 PM
  • Mongi123 I really have ecallies by Alcest to thank for that xD I never minded harsh vocals just never over an extended period of time. But damn, they're growing on me
    April 16 04:49 PM
  • Mongi123 All good bro. I'll actually have to put them on hold cause I'm starting to get into Opeth now!
    April 16 04:30 PM
  • Mongi123 Sup dude. Quick question, what's swans like? I've been meaning to try them but never really knew what to expect
    April 8 11:25 AM
  • BigPleb Will check, always open to new shizzle :]
    March 23 07:56 AM
  • BigPleb That album was p fun! Vocals are still going but it has a nice little storytelling vibe and the instrumentation is simple but adds a lot.
    March 23 07:50 AM
  • OmairSh I'm well. Not BMing at all. Was jamming Megadeth earlier. Now in a more mellow mood. Hows Jennifer Morrison? And have you forgotten about the OBSESSION?!
    March 21 02:02 AM
  • OmairSh Someones in a peachy mood :P
    March 20 06:43 PM
  • Mongi123 Alright dude I'll try that next. They're certainly an eccentric band and I love it. So original and moody.
    February 21 03:59 PM
  • Mongi123 Thanks a lot man! So which National album would be the best choice to try next for me you think?
    February 21 03:42 PM
  • Futures Yep that was him
    February 9 03:38 AM
  • Futures Gotcha my bad! Are removed threads gone forever?
    February 9 03:30 AM
  • Futures I know it sucks. Luckily I had that copied lol
    February 9 03:25 AM
  • Futures Oh my bad it wasd unfortunately. Haha!
    February 9 03:10 AM
  • Futures It was the ****ing best. The guy was straight retarded.
    February 9 03:01 AM
  • OmairSh wut up
    February 8 11:53 AM
  • TheSlenderMan Down with mainstream bulls***, HEIL THE KRIEG!!!
    February 1 10:23 AM
  • Mongi123 The album lyrically is perfect across the board imo. As I got to know them more, I realized I related to them a lot.
    February 1 10:06 AM
  • NeroCorleone80 Nightside does have a lot of atmosphere to it as well, maybe not as much as Burzum, but it def has more intensity, which is why I think its the perfect bm album since it combines the two. And the vocals are as good as you can get
    February 1 10:03 AM
  • NeroCorleone80 yeah those two EW albums are awesome, havent heard any of their others though
    February 1 09:57 AM
  • NeroCorleone80 hvis is prob second for me. I do prefer my bm to be a little more guitar orientated than ambient.
    February 1 09:55 AM
  • Mongi123 Idk track 5 just gets me everytime. All the layers of so euphoric. And you prob expected more because of the hype train haha. Maybe it'll grow more as you listen. Album hit me so hard first listen.
    February 1 09:49 AM
  • NeroCorleone80 They're not like most symphonic bm, the keyboards dont dominant the music completely but add perfectly to the atmosphere, and yeah Nightside is imo the best bm album of the second wave. Anthems also rules nearly as much.
    February 1 09:47 AM
  • NeroCorleone80 For someone who listens to alot of black metal, I'm surprised you dont have any Emperor rated.
    February 1 09:40 AM
  • Mongi123 Also, just listened to Souvlaki twice. So awesome! I think it's better than Loveless.
    January 31 08:55 PM
  • Mongi123 Yessir. What you think of tracks 5 of Shelter? I can't get enough of that one. And nice rating for TDDB!
    January 31 12:00 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea Loveless I've grown to appreciate a lot more. Certainly quite a unique album they created there.
    January 31 08:42 AM
  • Mongi123 Seriously though, I'm growing pretty attached to Shelter. So many people are calling it boring it's a shame. I know you told me there's better but I tend to not dwell on that when I find great music.
    January 31 08:36 AM
  • Mongi123 Sweet dude. And I'll give Slowdrive a try. Shoegaze is a pretty sweet genre.
    January 31 08:28 AM
  • Mongi123 Yea dude it really is. Lots of the genres you love thrown into one and its quite an emotional experience
    January 31 08:17 AM
  • Mongi123 Ok I'll try it out but definitely listen to my rec
    January 31 07:49 AM
  • Mongi123 Man have you tried out The Dark, Dark Bright by There Will Be Fireworks yet? If not, please do. I think you'll love it. It's amazing.
    January 30 02:36 PM
  • Mongi123 Maybe it's the sudden change in style cause I know he's a little of black metal too. I don't think about whether or not there's better albums than it out there, right now I'm having a great time listening to it.
    January 21 11:22 AM
  • Mongi123 I'm starting to get into shoegaze man. Shelter by Alcest is a beautiful album. Don't understand why some people dislike it so much.
    January 21 10:11 AM
  • CaptainDooRight thank you kind sir
    January 13 10:33 AM
  • CaptainDooRight hey a what's the name of the girl on your avi again, I keep forgetting...
