 | Pawpnbawtlez my friend, new deerhunter, yay or nay. whats ur opinion?
 | Willie Check the 'Review Request' area for your promo request.
 | Ire when did you become staff again damn i think that's called pulling a hanson
 | Hep Kat that nigga cray. my cousin paul is a big fan of his. i have a couple of his albums, and i think they're pretty decent
 | CK Are we going to be expecting any staff reviews anytime soon from you?
 | Iluvatar yeah dude i listened to it both ways and with the noise it's ****ing awesome **** the haters
 | silentpotato cool man, i know my sarcasm can be overbearing and obnoxious so genuinely never knew if u completely hated my guts or not so good hear cuz uve always been good in my books
 | Omaha Nah, just telling you I can cover if you find yourself too busy. I know you'll do a stellar job with it. if it doesn't pan out, though, just let me know! It's an interesting album that could use as much exposure as it can get.
 | Omaha Hey man, you still doing Youth Lagoon? =]
 | Omaha Same here, dude. i remember lurking here a long time ago, and reading the staff reviews, thinking "what if that were me someday?" it's weird to imagine that actually happening, especially because I know how those reviews really inspired me.
 | Omaha Hey man! We've never talked directly before, but I'd just like you to know I've always admired your passion for music. You seem to always have a unique and fresh mindset, and it's definitely something this site could use. Looking forward to your first review back!
 | Aids and a ratings wipe too, my word
 | Aids un-emeritus'd? name change? is sputnik getting a taste of lew 2.0????
 | Xenophanes welcome back you beautiful human being you. I'm honored to be on staff with you officially : 3
 | BaselineOOO Why don't you just check my ratings? they might bore you since you're only pop and indie but anyways: Boredoms - Vision Creation Newsun; Vladislav Delay - Anima; Maeror Tri - The Beauty of Sadness;
 | xamnesiacx yep,same.great taste,i see that new m b v-5.cant get into it :(
 | plane goodbye sputnikmusic
 | Pawpnbawtlez u 5d CHZ too!, **** YEHHHH. whats ur fav song? man the visuals for amanita are incredible.
 | kingsoby1 check out jeremiah jae - raw money raps. you will dig. also Niechec will blow your mind.
 | kingsoby1 i like a lot of new stuff, but just cant get behind shabazz palaces or death grips. i've tried a few times to sit and listen to black up, and it's not bad (like death grips!)... just dont love it.
 | kingsoby1 not sure what you are talking about
 | aokuneff miss you buddy. hope all is well (heart)
 | silentpotato no dude, but maybe i was just reading into things. i just wanted to make sure i didn't offend you really badly at some point or something cuz i always thought you were rad and you've been around even longer that since i got here 4 years ago.
 | silentpotato is there a particular reason why you've had a hate on for me for however long now or have you just gone bitter. because i recall getting along with you once upon a time.
 | pianotuna one day, lewis. one day we will actually like all the same indie music instead of liking all the opposite indie music.
 | Pawpnbawtlez hey brosef, u gonna review anything again? ur reviews are pretty much the only ones i read/enjoy. Even most the actual reviewers seem to be ass kissers / fake.
 | pianotuna i'm seeing james blake this coming week. hoping to fall back in love with the record =)
 | Simsalabim462 I may regret this after further months/years of consideration, but your taste in music(primarily Indie/Alt Rock) is my sole influence on this site as of now. You're pretty much my undeclared hero! Allow me to explain. I live in Huntsville, Texas, you see...eh...I feel that's all the explanation necessary! Thanks again!!!
 | Electric City so i saw your rating for main attrakionz and i recommend LWH. i mean CMG is all on it, you probably would be too
 | pianotuna this jenny hval lady is a little strange.
 | wabbit I adore your King of limbs soundoff
 | sehguh any idea the name of the original track, on the avalanches live mix around 19:10. the "womp womp" thing, i've heard it before.. just can't think of the name!
 | Enotron yo lew have you checked out a band called dilute? i feel like you would love them, they're really something special.
 | pianotuna have a feeling you'd find a lot to love about the new war on drugs album
 | bab808 haha yea goblin might have grown off me too, but i'm listening to bastard, and it's still the s***. black up is pretty dense though. i have hope that it'll stay fresh.
 | bab808 love your taste lewis. also like your ratings on shabazz and tyler, the creator.
 | Maniac! Yeah music sucks ;). Lemme know when you sign up and I will make you an author :)
 | Maniac! Well then that would be great, as long as you were planning on doing movie reviews for now. Obviously we have a lot of people doing music already. Later on, the staff will be free to review whatever they want.
 | Maniac! Were you serious about contributing to the site?
 | AggravatedYeti I need to give Portishead's 2nd record another look I think...
 | Pawpnbawtlez sweet, thanks alot dude, gonna have a mad weekend checkin all that out.. avey tares album last year was one of my favorites
 | aokuneff they played 'did you see the words' when i saw them last, which aside from 'the purple bottle' is probly my favorite on the album but 'we tigers' and 'brothersport' were the coolest moments for me. plus black dice had their way with the visuals which were mind numbing. catchya around
 | Pawpnbawtlez Hey man, i really appreciate your taste in music and the reviews you write.. was wondering if you could point out any albums or artists similar to AC- Feels? im literally obsessed with it, but i just cant seem to find anything that sits on the same level as it.
 | robertsona wonderbear.bandcamp.com/album/avalanche if you're feeling sinister
 | aokuneff and i'm seeing james blake soon, but i'm relying on a friend for that so maybe, maybe not
 | aokuneff i like kid a more than mpp and feels, but we should still talk about music sometimes. it seems like we both like some similar bands and i'm psyched to be seeing animal collective and feels in the not so distant future. i'm a real person that's not hard to find. shout or fb me if you need me
 | partyboy24 Dude how is halcyon digest only a 1? It's really good
 | Polymath That's quite an interesting list, I was hoping you'd show more love to MPP but you know...
 | Polymath Where would you rank Spirit They're Gone amongst your favorite AC albums?
 | Ire Okay i think i just got all of it. Thanks : )
 | Ire .... i love you
 | Ire i wanna be hip. will you rec me fun indie and shoegaze?
 | pianotuna new tvotr album? :( listen to me on this one, i think it is the only time i've gotten it right.
 | Superbus how the fudge do you have Feels, Panda Bear, and MPP at a 5, but Tomboy at a one? I mean I'm team Avey too but c'monnnnn
 | Electric City you should change your rating of tomboy now so it can be bnm'd =)
 | Lucidity Did you 5 Gonjasufi's album after a drug experience? I've considered it.
 | Electric City someones been reading a lot of cmg lately. so contrarian!
 | Polymath Ah alright that sounds better. Good to know you're not a blatant prick like theacademy.
 | Polymath Indeed it is but the 5 is probably because im such an AC fanboy, and listening to Tomboy gave me the feeling of when I heard MPP for the 7th time and clicked for me. Thanks man. And a 1? Fair play.
 | Polymath sorry had a bit of a rager moment there and removed em. i can see your point but no need to troll if i rate it a 5. im bouncing back and forth on 4.5-5.
 | Polymath what are your opinions on tomboy good sir?
 | pianotuna that should say "and lindesfarne, and it was awful."
 | pianotuna my friend and i also tried to create a combination of the wolves
 | pianotuna i was talking vivian girls. james blake feels like a steady rating for me and i can rarely decide on a thing.
 | pianotuna i should probably say something like 'i might have overrated it', but i love the record to the nth degree so i see no reason why you shouldn't :)
 | pianotuna http://www.mediafire.com/?jrhkj2c6cb2gucf (jb is instant classic) xxxx
 | Kiran i am deeply considering it
 | HSThomas I know. I've apologised to him and explained everything to him.
 | HSThomas Thanks planewreck, hopefully this won't happen again. It's just with the past week and now this cropping up, every thing is just becoming annoying at the moment but thanks again :).
 | HSThomas Yeah, sorry about that. It was due to a lot of paranoia on my part as someone has been negging my reviews as of late and not giving a reason for it, which is what I want to know. I just thought that the person who negged robertsona's review may have been the same person who negged my own review due to it having certain flaws.
 | conradtao YES, a 4.5 for Deerhoof vs. Evil. Thank you Mr. Parry.
 | AggravatedYeti http://trustmeimapro.blogspot.com/2011/02/robin.html -- click the little bird's name.
 | AggravatedYeti *shrugs* well at least we can agree YALL is good. Also have you check out PJ Harvey's latest? ****ing excellence.
 | Gyromania http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FWf7ONmNWE
 | Kiran the energy in the recordings alone is incredible
 | Kiran gashcat is so so great
 | kingsoby1 i'll have to give it a try. havent had a lot of time to review over the past year, but i'll put it on the list
 | Ponton hmm, this should work: http://www.mediafire.com/?c2cnrz1qpjz
 | Ponton good morning, lew. something tells me you would fall in love with Songs of Green Pheasant's S/T album. home-recorded British lofi folk with some psy tendencies. sublime 8)
 | pianotuna you heard the new vivian girls track? i never thought they'd do something so good. (this is obviously me overreacting) if not, for you: http://iheartvinyl.polyvinylrecords.com/em/iheardyousay
 | AggravatedYeti been on a deerhoof binge. lots of pool as well. not enough money but lots of cali bud. how r u?
 | AggravatedYeti hey you there guy. Would you mind rec'ing me a single record that for whatever reason you think I'd enjoy? pppllleeeaassse?? : ) amassing a little list for things to keep occupied with and well I'm plum out of ideas (or drive, whichever it was) muchas gracias senor and many hearts lewis.
 | pianotuna listened to yall. i like the 'groupie' track alot. it's got the mathy sound i dig.
 | Superbus Feels was actually my first AC album, second most played behind Strawberry Jam. I've actually just recently discovered how much i enjoy spirit. But yeah, my favorite AC album changes like every other month hahaha, all depends on the mood i'm in
 | AggravatedYeti man we would have the best listening parties. furthermore primo party soundtracks.
 | AggravatedYeti Paul's Tomb James Blake Native Speaker = 2 breezy hours of snow shoveling. I just felt the need to tell you this.
 | Superbus Hey neighbor! so i was scrolling through your ratings and saw that you had near every Animal Collective album rated a 5 too haha, jw which one's your fav? I'm partial to Spirit They're Gone...
 | AggravatedYeti couldn't have put it better; really warming up to the album. As for myself: work, video games, snow, repeat. January has been cold as ****. Oh and Public Strain every day for sure.
 | AggravatedYeti I'm curious as to your thoughts on Braid's new LP. I enjoy it quite a bit but I can trace a direct line from music to influence pretty easily. but it all just comes together so well...
 | Kiran would i dig this frog eyes business
 | AggravatedYeti if you haven't heard Destroyer's new album yet I think it's something you'll eat right up. that, James Blake and new Asobi are setting 2011 off oh-so right.
 | Polymath it seems like you really like ac
 | Enotron really enjoyed your public strain write-up, summed up my feelings on the record eloquently
 | joshuatree :( i try but time, i have like none anymore
 | Knott- romance is boring. a 3. really.
 | Xenophanes Sad to see that Emeritus tag by your name.
 | plane I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE HAS FIGURED IT OUT
 | joshuatree it was growing on me but idk. the first song is really promising but a lot of it doesn't stick for me. sorry =(
 | curseworship I ****ing knew it. If it doesn't make you think pontificate or make fun of religious-types it isn't worth your time because you are obviously an uber-hipster
 | curseworship I was the guy a couple days ago that said you hate fun
 | curseworship I am twenty, so I still have that leftover teenage angst that I can't just drink away. That is why I am on Sputnik
 | curseworship but with Pit it always inevitably turns into him trying to attack your intelligence for liking something objective
 | curseworship I can't believe you let yourself get sucked into Pit's s***.BTW, I was totally just ****ing with you on Hanson's facebook, no harm
 | crank yeah for always; forever and ever!
 | pianotuna haha well that's good to know =). i guess my fives are horribly indiesicive and adolescent, but i like them. we don't share many 5s anymore though. and i like 'oliver twist'. i didn't really expect much from the album but it has a great, great atmosphere. maybe the rest will come.
 | TomAndJerry yea kill your co workers takes some time to progress, but i think 2-4 is the most consistent part of the thing.
 | TomAndJerry yea this is easily his most accessible release to date. i love kill your co workers and pie face though. 5 and 7 are really bad imo though
 | TomAndJerry a 4 for flylo's ep? idk bout that man. i didnt like the back half too much. what was your favorite track?
 | Knott- you! did you hear fight like apes' new album yet? listening now.. not sure yet.
 | joshuatree http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=564450061 btw opinions on new deerhunter?
 | pianotuna i miss reading your things you write about albums
 | WeepingBanana hey just wondering, why don't you like the midnight organ fight?
 | qwe3 still naybers yayyyy
 | Kiran new sufjan stevens, insta-indy
 | Enotron woah you have a lot of listens for the books on last fm. what do you think of the way out?
 | pianotuna haha! me and my brother saw him open for anco and it was the most painful 45(!) minutes of my life. "howard" and "i'm an alcoholic" esp. no idea why they signed him to their label.
 | Spare is that the girl from me and you and everyone we know in your profile pic
 | robertsona i usually dont give out random recs but your love for storm and stress popped into my head while listening to henry cow's 'unrest'--i slightly suspect you'll Absolutely Love It, though if you dont that's fine. check it out, totally hidden gem
 | joshuatree :) I'm so indecisive about ratings though, basically just rate things for BNM support nowadays :|
 | Kiran mmm yes im getting that hillage album immediately. come to bangkok, we can chill
 | AggravatedYeti I heard "Seeds" in a club tonight. Honestly I'm more surprised I was in a club but still I went 'Lewis' and no one got it : (
 | Kiran thought i should let you know that i was listening to dusk at cubist castle on shrooms yesterday and all i could think of was your signal morning intro where you talk about the body and the woodpeckers and hazy grey mother nature and whatnot, it was weird, i was seeing everything in claymation
 | thebhoy Menomena have a new album? Why have I not heard this?!
 | pianotuna the storm and stress albums reminds me of a way weirder 'american don'. i quite like it sir although i dont really know why being confused was supposed to help, it confused me more :( this all said it's going to take some getting my ear around.
 | MichaelJordan i feel bad for always disagreeing with you on album's. you're a cool guy
 | pianotuna i will wait for that exact moment, and sustain myself with chirper stuff for the time-being.
 | AggravatedYeti most definitely is. 'Zoomer' was pretty good, but all the tracks Ive heard from their new record sound so much better.
 | pianotuna also, im going to finally check out this storm and stress band now. trusting you.
 | pianotuna no one on this godforsaken website makes any sense to me
 | qwe3 listen to more metal dude bro man
 | qwe3 Hmmm that's a little strange. Took a look at your 5s and a lot of them are mine too so maybe thats it? idk. but you're not mine :(
 | AggravatedYeti I won't lie, I'm very happy to see that 4.5 for 'Queen Mary.'
 | AggravatedYeti you and I are in a war for Robin's top neighbors -- yes this is srs lewis.
 | SeaAnemone oh ps--I bought Storm and Stress' s/t the other day on a whim and ended up loving every minute of it... I know Under... is a classic of yours, is it in the same vein? how does it compare?
 | pianotuna SETTLED. blargh, everytime i want to listen to my 'summer' albums (strawberry jam, mama im swollen - don't ask, and other general indie shiz) it starts spitting down again. this country.
 | pianotuna also, the most awesome part of perfect from now in is the last twelve or so seconds of made-up dreams. even though that's dumb.
 | pianotuna i agree with you that bk is better, it's just weird how the only two really natural 5s i have are guided by voices. everything else fluctuates, so i just foolishly assumed youd be affirmitevely fiving alien lanes too. and for some reason i feel like keep it like a secret is a 'summer' album too because it's something i always listen to when im walking. when i go to and from my house to classes as well, i tend to listen to carry the zero and resist air guitaring in the middle.
 | pianotuna thats quite a lovely idea. i'll have to listen to them for real then, i guess it always just frustrated me that i would listen to some of their songs for days on end but ignore the majority. i love his high pitched voice, though. i think i'd switch the ratings you have around though if it were possible for me to fall in love with them that much. i mean i feel the same when i see you have alien lanes at a mere 4.5
 | pianotuna what about center of the universe, the plan, carry the zero, else, you were right, sidewalk? i might just listen to THAT album instead. no but they're rad, i think i probably just didnt really bother with them as much as gbv and pavement.
 | pianotuna i probably do like it more than that, it's just there are bits i wish the entire album was like (youve-thought-of-eeeeverything-but-somethingscanttbeee and the entirity of made up dreams). i actually had it at 5 at one point, so that's pretty weird of me for it to grow off me so much. then again, i tend to idealise albums into 5s based on one or two songs, so yeah. sowee =(
 | Iai Should probably say that The Knife are a singles band for me though, so I'm either expecting something amazing or something that completely doesn't interest me. Can't see there being a middle ground.
 | Iai Haven't got around to hearing it yet tbh. I plan to, though.
 | Gyromania That's what I'll likely end up doing. The general consensus seems to be very positive, so I have high hopes for it. I can't imagine an album topping Tomorrow, In A Year in 2010, it's so atmospheric- I connected with it on the first listen, and since then further listens have only made it better. Do you use msn, or AIM?
 | Gyromania I was wondering if there was any chance that you could send me the new Flying Lotus record. Also, I can't believe how underappreciated Tomorrow, In A Year is, and all the scathing criticisms towards the first disc.
 | klap accept my last. fm request toolbox
