Philadelphia's Lilys are the project of singer/guitarist Kurt Heasley, who has been recording with a rotating cast of musicians under the name for 15 years. The
band debuted with In the Presence of Nothing in 1992, a shoegaze record heavily indebted to My Bloody Valentine. Over the course of Lilys' existence,
Heasley has experimented with guitar rock, ambient soundscapes, British Invasion-style pop and post-punk, rarely returning to the same genre twice.
