10 of 13 thought this review was well written

1. Holidays in the Sun Very nice start off to the record starts off with a power chord every two seconds or so then goes into much quicker and a fairly easy guitar riff. Very catchy. Then come in the lyrics, which are very political and could only be sung well by Johnny. Sometimes the lyrics are quite hard to understand but that will stay the same through out the album. This is one of my favourite songs on the album and is a very good example of British punk rock. 5/5

2. Bodies - This song has powerful guitar and powerful lyrics. This song has a chorus, which will stick in your head all day long and will drive your friends mad because you will be singing it all the time. This song is a direct attack on abortion and has it is a crime and shouldnt be allowed basically. Some rude language in this song so you have been warned but its good song. 4/5

3. No Feelings - Good guitar riff to kick off the song then some fast paced lyrics. This song is about a selfish guy and is a good example of a sex pistols song. Very punk rock and fun to play (if you ask me) especially the solo. 4.5/5

4. Liar - Probably the worst song the album gets a bit boring and a bit repetitive with the word liar I sometimes will skip this song. It may be a good thing this is the shortest song on the album 2.5/5

5. God Save the Queen - This has got to be one of their best songs. I love this song. Its yet another political song with very cool guitar and funny lyrics. You have got to download this song if you will not buy the album it is amazing. 5/5

6. Problems - Another good song. Good guitar and drums to start off with then the lyrics enter. Just the usual Johnny Rotten lyrics. In other words that are trying to be sung. Another song with a hidden meaning. A good song and Ill let you work out what it means for a change. 4.5/5

7. Seventeen - Seventeen is one of those songs that are slow and you either like or dont like. Fortunately I like this song despite it being the heaviest song on the album (am I allowed to say that?) I love the chorus because it reminds me of someone, me :-) 4/5

8. Anarchy in the UK - Wow, what can I say? I love this song. This is the song that made me buy this album. Very good punk song infact, its a very good song. Period. I suggest you download this song immediately and send it to all your friends and live very happily ever after 5/5

9. Submission A let down to a brilliant album. I was talking about songs that you can either like or hate. This is one of those songs and lets just say I dont listen to it often. You might like it though because it does have a good riff and there are some strange noises in it too 2/5

10. Pretty Vacant - Another great song and another one that gets stuck in your head. This is possibly the Sex Pistols at their best. Infact, probably Punk rock at its best. I suggest you listen to this song while playing Ghost Recon to on Xbox live. It gets you in the mood and is great fun for some very odd reason. 5/5

11. New York - Slowish song. Good guitar and good lyrics. I cant think what to say about this song. Its just typical Sex Pistols. 4/5

12. EMI - Very good example of Sex Pistols. Its a powerful song and is ranked quite high in my favourite punk rock songs but is trailing some of the above songs. 4.5/5

This is a very good punk rock album. I honestly suggest you either download some of the songs or buy the album. It only costs 5 from your nearest Fopp :-)

The Sex Pistols were never that great, in my opinion. About half of this album is good, and the rest is monotonous, cockney-accented rambling. Props to Steve Jones and Mr. Cook for being the only halfway-decent members of the band.

I got this out again a couple days back. It's never gonna be an album I listen to regularly, but even so, you forget how much great stuff there is on here.

Sid apparently stabbed Nancy Spungen. Sid himself died of an overdose.

That being said, the Pistols should never have kicked out Glen Matlock (Actually, he may have quit. I don't remember).. Sid was one of the worst bassists I have ever seen in my life. He didn't even play on Nevermind the Bollocks, Steve played his parts. Glen was one of their main songwriters, and could actually play his instrument.

Sid couldn't play at all. When putting the band together their manger owned a sex shop and held auditions for a singer named john (which was both rotten and sids name) which his girlfriend (i think) said would fit the band well. But she mentioned Sid, not 'Rotten. So it was kind of a mistake that Johnny Rotten got into the band.

Glen left because he didnt want the band to have all the bad publicy and didnt want to rebel and all that. So Sid being a friend of Johnny's got in the band probably because of his image/attitude/friendship with Johnny.

Glen was the only songwriter (musically) because he was the only one who could be bothered to write! Thats why the 'the great rock and roll swindle' is so bad. Simply because he wasn't present.
