Review Summary: We are the warriors on the edge of time
The great hound barked And the world turned white
The great hound sighed And the forest died
The Wizard Blew His Horn The Wizard Blew His Horn
The snow snake hissed And the world turned round
The snow snake grinned In his fine cold sin
When The Wizard Blew His Horn The Wizard Blew His Horn
The horse wept blood And the Earth did groan
The tall horse reared From a lake of tears
To seek a champion To seek a champion
The world was bleak And the Earth did fear
The Wizard's Horn With magic born
So it screamed for a champion
It screamed for a champion
The eagle laughed And the world grew black
It stretched giant claws And it snatched the Law
And the champion stirred in his sleep
The champion stirred in his sleep
Champion
Champion

Hawkwind's psychedelic masterpiece
Warrior on the Edge of Time jams hard, trips hard, and progs hard. The listener becomes a hawk flying through the jungle, guided through various cadavers by keyboard tones, saxes, flutes and even strings. The sometimes apparent hard jamming distorted guitar in the backround leads the album to jam hard, and even fronts the song
Motorhead which features vocals by Lemmy himself. The spacey atmosphere entrances the listener throughout the entire album and does not let go as the psychedelic factor increases until it can barely be contained by the record itself. With trippy lyrics that could not possibly understood by the sober listener, the songs keep the listener interested. Groovy basselines interact with the flute on tracks such as
Assault and Battery to keep the listener entombed in spacey heaven that is
