Review Summary: A beautiful, interesting contender for Unwound's best album.

Leaves Turn inside You is the ultimate October album (hence the song, October All Over). It creates a feeling sadness, but makes one think about things they rarely think about. At least that was the way it was with me. Unwound took a big step from their punk/noise rock fury that was their earlier albums, and create a beautiful masterpiece that is often overlooked.

Treachery brings back memories of the more aggressive Unwound, while still keeping the depressing and emotional feel of the present album. Below The Salt is possibly the best song on the album, certainly the longest. Terminus has a beautiful orchestra section of the song, something I'm very glad Unwound experimented with. Look A Ghost is probably the most upbeat song on the album, and it's quite good. A giant leap from earlier Unwound songs, Justin experiments with whispered vocals, and they blend perfectly, telling a story of, well, a ghost. Other song topics include demons, summer freezes, and december. Which just increases the feeling of cold and gray that the album already potrays.

Leaves Turn inside You is an excellent album by an excellent band that is often overlooked. It's a good listen, but gets very depressing.

Pros:
New sound
Beautiful experimentation
Interesting songs

Cons:
Can get too depressing
Quite a long listen

Recommended Songs:
Look a Ghost
December
Terminus
Below the Salt
Demons Sing Love Songs

Try putting more detail in your review and talk more about the overral sound and what it's like. Otherwise decent review for your first.

Big ups for reviewing this album aswell.

this review is kinda short, but there's no doubt that it was well written.

I love this album, but it might suffer from the opposite problem.
