 | danielito19 you actually might have better luck with aphex twin than autechre, his work is a lot warmer and more overtly emotional. start maybe with selected ambient works 85-92, but his mid-90s stuff like I Care Because You Do and Richard D. James Album is probably his most obviously emotive.

 | beefshoes Agreed completely. An album can have to coolest concept can the concept absolutely ruined because of sub-par music or music that doesn't fit the theme.

| danielito19 as far as autechre goes confield is a really bad starting point. i love confield now, but i'd never rec it to someone who's never heard autechre. listen to their earlier work like Amber and Tri Repetae, those have plenty of melodies to go along with the rhythms, textures, and structures that dominate their later stuff

They're pretty fantastic and I found out that my friends' band almost played with them (show got cancelled), and another friend of mine knows the violinist, so I thought that was pretty cool.
