| ||Washer Here Comes Washer|
A wonderfully catchy and achingly familiar indie rock record that ticks a lot of boxes in all the right ways.
| ||AUM Om Ah Hum Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hum|
When primitive caveman death metal finds spiritualism. A beautiful thing.
| ||Preoccupations Preoccupations|
Preoccupations is the sound of dissecting every rotten feeling. An immediately familiar hood
hangs from its trappings and sullen, dancing monochromatic beats. From the opening drones of
'Anxiety', there's a brightly coloured ambiance that sounds as if dulled by some kind of blemish-
removing Instagram filter. I can't tell if it's triggered some kind of nostalgia, or if the album has just
tapped into some well of mundane, bare and utterly relatable ugly emotion.
| ||Darkthrone Arctic Thunder|
Rules, as expected. Arctic Thunder culminates all of Darkthrone's styles over the years into one insanely good record, with some new doses of slow and dark doom metal that Ted and Fenriz have injected into the mix.
| ||Liers In Wait Spiritually Uncontrolled Art|
I AM YOUR FUCKIN' OVERLORD. This album is twisted and chaotic, full of dynamic riffs, atmospheric keys and just crazy music. Definitely one of my favourite death metal albums, it's just a shame the project was so short-lived. This is some of the most deadly death metal there is.
| ||Nox Formulae The Hidden Paths to Black Ecstasy|
Brilliant Hellenic black metal. From the mastermind behind Serpent Noir, once again showing us the true sound of occult black metal and basically making all other bands in 2016 irrelevant.
| ||Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Skeleton Tree|
dear fucking lord this is the most devastating album i've heard
|AsleepInTheBack Thats fair enough man. Yeah man I loved it; if it were a little more concise it'd be an AOTY contender for me for sure. And your project with Yak was pretty sweet too. Looking forward to your future projects.|
