Tuesday, June 30th Acoustic Pop-Punk duo This Wild Life announced that they will write and play country music from now on.
The official statement goes like this :
"A message from Kevin and Anthony:
Five albums, nearly a thousand shows across dozens of countries. We've spent over a decade creating music we love and performing them.
We've worked passionately and tirelessly, but we've also been incredibly lucky to have a fanbase that has lifted us up on their shoulders.
You've given us a long leash to push ourselves creatively, never feeling like we have to stay in any musical box. Now we're going to see just how long that leash really is.
For the last three years, we've been quietly writing andr ecording our first full-band country record. We know this may come as a surprise to fans who discovered us through Warped Tour and the scene.

At that stage, we were working in an open, experimental way, to see what would happen. At first, there wasn’t even any mention of an album. Then that song started to take form and it sounded good. I’ve known Ellie for years, we’ve seen each other often, we’ve told each other several times we should do something together. And by pure coincidence, she arrived at the studio very late, around 11 pm, ... more

According to the band's website, the album is expected in October.
Regarding the single and the album itself, long time guitar player Markus Vanhala said:
"Shadowlife opens the dreamy next chapter of INSOMNIUM with a certain self-aware catchiness. I set out to write an obvious hit—perhaps even a so-called banger—to kick things off, but don’t worry: the deeper cuts will follow. Album No. 10 is truly a defining milestone for us, so we wanted to honor our history while also introducing some new nuances. Living on the edge."

'Everything's Falling' is a snapshot of where we are in our lives right now. We've grown so much over the past few years, not just as musicians, but as people. This album reflects everything we've experienced, the lessons we've learned, and the challenges we've overcome. At its core, it's about accepting that life can be messy and unpredictable. Things fall apart, plans change, and sometimes you lose your footing. But those moments can teach you the most about yourself, and they're often what make you stronger in the end.

Known from his extensive run with grindcore veterans Napalm Death, guitarist Mitch Harris has designed and built a service which connects bands, crews, promoters, venues and festivals, in order to mitigate the loss of income due to streaming, and the high cost/increasingly complex logistics of touring, while securing fair wages and pricing for all involved parties.
TourFlip is scheduled to be fully operational this summer, and in that light, Harris has launched a crowdfunding campaign at tourflip.com. Through the service, the aforementioned agents will be able to remotely perform complex transactions that forgo the traditional and often uneconomical routes for everyone with a stake in touring.
The way Harris sees it, institutions such as investors and labels cannot care less about the livelihood of the people involved in touring, so the service hopes to provide the latter with everything that they need, in order to work things out.

“Finally I am able to unveil the upcoming Thurnin release
I've been working on this release since before Utiseta, making this the longest I've worked on a Thurnin album
3 years+ in the making, I present to you ; Termina
As the name and art imply, I wrote this album with the impending sense of dread that this might be the last album I release for Thurnin
At least for a while, but I will find myself at peace if this would be the end of this path
Termina feels to me like the spiritual sequel to Menhir, with all the growth I've experienced as an artist since then
With a running time of well over an hour, in 10 tracks, this has been the biggest undertaking of my career,
At this point in time I am not fully ... more
