As many of you may have deduced, the highly anticipated electronic project between Sputnik legends Dalton DuBois (ASnideRemark) and Andrew Gold (Insurrection) - Ice in the Sky - has been dropped. Conflicting schedules and personal dilemmas did not work in our favor, unfortunately. We both are as devastated as you are about this news, that I can promise.
But with this harrowing news comes a silver lining. The dynamic duo has another ambitious project in the works: A metalcore cover of Kelly Clarkson's 'Behind These Hazel Eyes'.
Yours truly will handle instrumentals and production, Dalton DuBois will take care of the harsh vocals, and newcomer Cassandra Padley will grace us with her clean singing. It will be the first collaboration of this nouveau three-way, and hopefully not the last.
In other news, an Andrew Gold EP should be expected sometime in early 2015. As for Mr. Snide, he has no other future musical endeavors planned... for now.

Ex-RHCP guitar prodigy John Frusciante has revealed a new project that sees him embracing acid house under the moniker Trickfinger. The self-titled debut is set to be out in early April through Acid Test.
Regarding the new direction, Frusciante mentioned: “I started being serious about following my dream to make electronic music, and to be my own engineer, five years ago. For the 10 years prior to that, I had been playing guitar along with a wide range of different types of programmed synthesizer and sample-based music, emulating what I heard as best as I could. I found that the languages machines forced programmers to think in had caused them to discover a new musical vocabulary.
“In 2007, I started to learn how to program all the instruments we associate with acid house music and some other hardware. For about seven months I didn’t record anything. Then I started recording, playing 10 or so synced machines through a small mixer into a CD burner. T ...more

Blink-182 have announced that they are playing the Musink Festival in March 2015 with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba as a fill-in for founding member Tom DeLonge, after a public spat that began January 26.
The dispute began when Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker released a press statement, in which they revealed that DeLonge's manager had told them that he "didn’t want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinetly, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors". However, DeLonge promptly responded with a post to his Facebook page, stataing that he "never quit the band".
In response, Hoppus and Barker conducted an interview with Rolling Stone in which they accused DeLonge of being disinterested in Blink-182, as well as "disrespectful and ungrateful" behavior, stating that he was in fact no longer a part of the band. After a further statement by DeLonge in which he lodged his own accusations against the band, their f ...more
