Pop punk/post-hardcore band Life on Repeat are streaming their final album Blacklisted at Alternative Press.
The band has issued a statement explaining the reasons that led to its disbanding.
It’s been a long, amazing ride, but with the growing competition and politics of the music industry it would be next to impossible for us to continue being a band financially and actually keep our spirits high in doing so. We love making music and playing it for new people, but there are just some aspects to being in a band that make it hard to actually keep doing it for the right reasons…and we would never want to sell ourselves short just to please what we think people will like. We were so lucky to have teamed up with Equal Vision Records and to have met such an amazing group of people within the music industry. It’s nice to know that there are still some people out there that do this for the right reason, and that is a rare thing to find nowadays. more

Jake Bowen (guitars) states:
"Clear is an experiment to explore all of the different writing styles in the band. It's rare when you have a band where every member is capable of writing and producing music. With each member controlling their own track, this recording enabled us to go down any path we chose in terms of style and sound.
"Every track also contains a melodic theme established in Clear's intro track "Overture" this common thread links all of the songs together, even though they all sound wildly different.
Clear shouldn't be confused with our new 3rd full-length album that we're currently working on.

Frontman Chris Motionless of the Post-Hardcore band Motionless in White has put forth an open letter on the internet, explaining his absence from social networking, their almost complete turn-around in musical style, and plans for himself, his band, and music in general.
Recess is over.
As usual, I say something in an interview and of course fans have a problem with it. I don’t know why i continuously feel like I should have to defend myself, but because no one is able read between the lines to understand why I said what i said.. I can’t help but want to try and encourage people to use their brains for something other than typical tumblr nonsense.
Here I am.. on trial in the court of the internet yet again. why? because I quoted in an interview that “Motionless In White are not about preaching the message anymore or pushing the be yourself shit”
Yes. Myself and the band as an entity have decided to stop the preaching. If you’ve been to any shows of our ...more

Swedish guitarist Marcus Jidell (Evergrey/Avatarium/ex-Royal Hunt) is streaming a video for the song "Huldra" at the official YouTube channel of Lion Music Finland.
Song and video come from Jidell's debut instrumental album Pictures From A Time Traveller, which was released in August. Jidell wanted to do something different than "yet another studio-recorded mime guitar video". In his own words:
To catch a different vibe, I brought a mobile studio and a Marshall stack to the country side one early morning in November where we recorded and filmed a one-take of 'Huldra'. I didn't want the regular 'mimed' video thing, so I just played it once again. I wanted it to be raw and honest and to show how I improvise around themes when playing guitar live. I think that we captured the spirit of the song both playing-wise and with the way it was filmed and I hope people who see this will think the same.

Burial is set to release a new EP on December 16th, once again through Kode 9's Hyperdub label.
Information is at this point (and in Burial's case, always) scarce, though a mail-out from Hyperdub's distributor indicates that the release will hold 3 tracks, with a combined running time of 28 minutes.
The news comes with a hint of deja vu attached to it; Burial's last release, the double A-side Truant/Rough Sleeper, was first announced under similarly obscure circumstances, and was officially released on December 17th.

Green Day have announced a Hiatus going into effect once they finish up their upcoming Australian tour dates. Billie Joe-Armstrong has stated the trio are still on good terms but simply need a break from it all to take a breather.
"We haven't really been doing much. So it's just nice to kind of do some other things, y'know, [then] when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged."
Of course, this means the members aren't abandoning music all together and will continue to work on side-projects. For the aforementioned tour, those dates will take place next year during February and wrapping up in March.

Austrian progressive funk-rock band Mother's Cake aim to present their debut album Creation's Finest as a studio live-session at the Kulutcafé Propolis and produce and publish the concert as a video.
For this they have launched a crowdfunding project to cover their costs: http://www.startnext.de/en/creation-s-finest-live-studio.
On the page they write: Anybody who has seen a Mother's Cake concert knows that they concoct an immensely dense atmosphere and powerful show on stage. For all those who can't see the band for reasons of geographical separation or of simply having no money, or those who just can't get enough of the Cake, the band wants to provide an opportunity to get the rumpus into their living rooms or onto their computers. Because this is only possible via video, we ask for your financial support!.
