On October 19th, Three Days Grace lead singer Matt Walst announced on the group's Instagram account that they have finished their forthcoming sixth studio album, with release dates for a single and the full album to be announced soon. This will serve as the follow up to the band's 2015 album "Human."
More than eight years since her self-titled debut, Swedish electro-witch Fever Ray is back.
The lead single from her as-yet unnamed sophomore record is "To The Moon and Back." Full of busy, technicolour synth work, fans may find the track closer to Karin's work in The Knife, rather than anything off of her sparse solo album.
Will the rest of the album be more subdued? Or has Karin abandoned nocturnal ambience for a more tense, Shaking The Habitual-esque sound? At this point, we can only guess.

Canadian chamber music ensemble Esmerine will be releasing a new album entitled Mechanics of Dominion on October 20, 2017 on Constellation Records. The band features two former members of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Silver Mt. Zion. The song 'La Pénombre' comes from the upcoming album. The video for the song is a collaboration with Montréal-based multi-disciplinary artist Brad Todd. Watch the video below.

Gordon Downie, lead singer of Canadian alternative folk group The Tragically Hip, has just passed away at the age of 53 due to brain cancer. He was diagnosed in 2015 where he then revealed it publicly in 2016. It is unknown whether or not if the band will continue without him.
Legendary underground post-metal band, Amenra, have begun streaming their album via The Independent Online ahead of the October 20th release of Mass VI.
The stream is accompanied by a brief article on the album, which mentions that there are actually two different mixes of the album. The US version was completed by Billy Anderson who has worked with bands such as Swans, Neurosis, Mr. Bungle, Agalloch, and many others. The European version was mixed by Jack Shirley, known for his work with Deafheaven, Oathbreaker, Punch, and others. Each version also has its own album artwork.

Technical punk-pop band Icarus the Owl announced a new single, "Dream Shade" from their upcoming album, Rearm Circuits. The song also has a music video.
Frontman Joey Rubenstein said of the song: "This song is about the many forms that abuse can take. Despite its destructive and malignant affects, we pass it off as normal everyday behavior. We focused on neglect and broken homes for the video."

New York based melodic heavy/power metal band Hittman, have inked an agreement with Hellenic label No Remorse Records, for the reissue of their eponymous 1988 LP.
The album's (much needed due to its rareness and merit) reissue at its 30th anniversary, as well as the band's decision to reunite and record new songs for a 2018 full-length release, will commemorate the life of bassist Mike Buccellato, whose passing in 2013, triggered the mentioned train of events.
The surviving Hittman members will give their first live concert since the reunion on Keep It True festival, held in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany.
Australian pop-punkers Tonight Alive have dropped a new music video for their new single "Temple". The single is taken off the band's upcoming 4th album, Underworld, which drops January 12th via Hopeless Records.

Seattle funeral doom duo Bell Witch are streaming their new album Mirror Reaper ahead of its release on October 20th.
The album can be streamed via Noisey, which includes an interview with bassist/vocalist Dylan Desmond and drummer/vocalist Jesse Shreibman about how the record came to be. They also discuss the departure and later passing of former drummer Adrian Guerra and how his passing changed the approach of the record.

Cyhra just release the second single from their upcoming debut album "Letter to Myself". The new song can be streamed on streaming services such as Spotify and the new album will be released on the 20th of October.
For those who don't know, Cyhra is a long-awaited band featuring ex-In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad and bassist Peter Iwers, ex-Amaranthe vocalist Joacim "Jake E." Lundberg, and drummer Alex Landerburg (Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, ex-Annihilator). The Finnish guitarist Euge Valovirta (e.g. ex-Shining [SWE]) recently joined as Cyhra's fifth member.

Just days before the release of her 2017's album Glasshouse, R&B artist Jessie Ware released the single "Alone", alongside its accompanying music video. The song sees the British singer on a style more reminiscent of the popular artist Sam Smith, a slight departure from previous releases of hers.

Scottish depressing folk-turned-funk rockers Belle and Sebastian have announced an upcoming trilogy of EPs, How to Solve Our Human Problems, set to be released across December, January and February. A combined fifteen songs will comprise the trilogy, with the parts set to arrive on December 8th, January 19th and February 16th respectively. Pick up a pre-order on the band's website and hear the lovely singles "We Were Beautiful" and "I'll Be Your Pilot" - from Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 respectively - which see the group both looking forward with some electronic influences, and looking back in a slight return to the stripped-back folk of their earlier days.
More than seven years after the release of their last album, Australian rockers Gyroscope have dropped a double A-side single in anticipation of an upcoming tour. "Crooked Thought" and "DABS" see the band returning to a raw, punk rock sound similar to their debut Sound Shattering Sound, after their last two albums saw an expansion into ballad-heavy alt rock territory. In a Facebook post, singer Daniel Sanders explains the long wait for new material from the band.
"Recorded in 2017 during a couple of rainy days in Perth with the infamous (meaning more than famous) Dave 'Parko' Parkin on board, we made a combined conscious effort to not fuck with a bunch of different guitar amps and try loads of weird sounds with these two songs. We didn't go and try this and that in regard to overdubbing layers. We took a very live approach to it all from the get-go really.
