Iron Maiden streams Wacken set 13 replies

After six months on the The Book of Souls tour, Iron Maiden will stream the last gig of the 2016 leg of the tour, live from Wacken Open Air, online on Thursday 6th April. The tour, based heavily around the aforementioned album, boasts a giant, Mayan temple themed stage set with the typical pyro and costume changes, and even the classic Eddies that have been a staple of Maiden sets, complete with a setlist with 6 tracks from the new album, some usual staples and even a few surprises too.
Says the band's manager:

"We decided to finish the tour at Wacken as it is the ideal way to end this magical tour playing to 80,000 core metal fans at this legendary Metal festival. Wacken has become such as international event with many thousands of fans from many other countries around the world joining and celebrating with the German fans so it is perfect for the final show of a memorable tour. Seahorse Divorce disband 11 replies

Brisbane's own Indie Math Pop quintet Seahorse Divorce, have just released their sophomore LP entitled "NOW". At approximately 31 minutes in length this is also unfortunately to be the final release from the band.

New Massive Attack Music 13 replies

British trip-hop legends Massive Attack have released new music, the first since the Ritual Spirit EP was released in January earlier this year.

'The Spoils' single features two unheard songs. The title track features Mazzy Star singer Hope Sandoval, who the band had previously collaborated with on 'Paradise Circus' from the 2010 album 'Heligoland'.

The second track, 'Come Near Me', features English vocalist Ghostpoet and comes accompanied with a video.

No official news of an album has been released.

Mika Bleu Dies 15 replies

It’s with deep regret and saddened hearts that we report that Miserable Failure vocalist Mika Bleu, aged only 34, tragically passed away last Friday night, ran over and killed by a drunk driver that fled the scene.

Kaotoxin Records, the band’s record label, posted the following heartfelt message on their official site:

“We’re speechless. We’re absolutely speechless.

No word can start to describe the feeling of utter pain and absolute sadness that’s flooding our hearts while writing these lines in what’s a miserable attempt to pen a tribute to one of our artists who passed away yesterday night.

He was joy. He was positivity, optimism. He was love. He was party.

He was honesty. He was respect. He was absolute friendship. And he’s no more and no one will ever replace him in that special place he had in our hearts.

Sludge metal trio Helms Alee have released a new track from upcoming album Stillicide (on Sargent House) entitled "Untoxicated".

The trio clipping. has announced their long-awaited third album, entitled 'Splendor & Misery'.
The album is a concept album, described as "an Afrofuturist, dystopian concept album that follows the sole survivor of a slave uprising on an interstellar cargo ship, and the onboard computer that falls in love with him."

The album is slated for a 9/9/16 release, and has been teased with the single 'Baby Don't Sleep'. This song has been accompanied by a music video containing bright flashes, and should probably have a seizure warning.

British Indie quartet Glass Animals have debuted a new track entitled "Youth", and a music video to go along with this new single. This is the second single to come from their sophomore album How To Be a Human Being, which is expecting release on August 26.

Swiss thrash and progressive metal icons Coroner have entered the studio to record a new album. The album is expected to be released in 2017 and will be their first album since 1993's Grin.

Alcest unveil Kodama 63 replies

French blackgaze forerunners Alcest will release, Kodama, on September 30, 2016 by way of Prophecy Productions. Their 5th album sees the duo fusing the extreme elements of their earlier releases with forays into new musical territories.

In addition to drawing influence from The Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Dinosaur Jr, Grimes and The Cure, the 6-song collection recalls the undulating grandeur of the band's esteemed 2010 offering, Écailles De Lune and is billed as the band’s “Japanese album”, gleaning inspiration from and paying tribute to Hayao Miyazaki's film "Princess Mononoke" and the illustrations of Takato Yamamoto.

The album will be available in standard CD and LP editions as well as special, deluxe 2CD, 3LP and 4LP versions.

One half of the beloved and late post-hardcore band FACT - guitarists Takahiro Onose, Kazuki Sakurai, and vocalist Hironobu Onose - have released a new single today, titled "Fail", that serves as an appetizer for the band's upcoming EP, "Progress".

The song and video can be found below:

"Progress" will be the trio's new project, SHADOWS', second EP (and release) on the label Maximum10, who previously housed FACT.

While the three aforementioned musicians are the only official members of SHADOWS, the band's elusive rhythm section was at one point manned by the bassist and drummer of fellow Japanese skatepunk band Waterweed, although it is unclear who exactly is filling those positions in this video.
