A few months ago, Polish progressive rock band Riverside had announced the upcoming release of their sixth studio album. Details from this new effort, entitled Love, Fear and the Time Machine, have recently been revealed.
Musically, frontman Mariusz Duda has described the new release as blending the band's usual 70s influences with inspiration from the 80s. "We moved forward and sort of demolished the previous foundations and built new ones," he adds.
Duda has also stated the new album is characterized by greater flow and concision, new ideas and a "huge dose of melancholy and nostalgia."
Lyrically, although it has not been specified if the record was a concept album, Duda has said the new songs' lyrics were bound by the theme of transformation. It's "about making an important, perhaps life changing, decision everyone has to make at some point in their lives.

Dan Tompkins (singer for every progressive metal and djent band in the world) has mutually parted ways with the Delhi based, Skyharbor. The distance and heightened tour schedule for Skyharbor coupled with Tompkins rejoining TesseracT helped make the decision much easier for both sides and there is no bad blood between them. This will have no impact on the White Moth Black Butterfly project that consists of both Tompkins and Keshav Dhar.
The band has already brought on a new singer, Eric Emery (formerly of Concordia) to take over vocal duties. Here is Eric in a live take of the first song on Skyharbor's last album, "Evolution."
