Portugal. The Man have created a new song to promote the awareness for the Sumatran Tiger, whose species only have 400 remaining tigers in captivity and in the wild. The song is entitled, "The Endangered Song" and will degrade unless the vinyl record is purchased, transferred digitally, and shared throughout social media outlets, a metaphor as to how the tigers are going extinct. The record is only being copied 400 times. A musical consumer has posted a youtube video of the song by purchasing the record and deciding to share the song to the world. Milwaukee, Wis. hardcore band Expire are debuting the title track from their upcoming album, "Pretty Low," over at Revolvermag.com. The band's forthcoming LP is the much-anticipated follow up to "Pendulum Swings," and will be released via Bridge Nine Records on June 17.

Two-person experimental post-rock outfit, Sugary Sweet Machines, have announced the release
of their debut LP. It will entitled Tours of the Bleak, and will be streamed via
bandcamp.com on April 26, 2014.
Based in the US, Sugary Sweet Machines is formed by members of A Slow Descent and The
Phonies, taking industrial and ambient music in a more chaotic and violent direction than
their respective solo projects. Tours of the Bleak explores themes of mounting anger,devastation, and insanity in the midst of the apocalypse. The tone of the album is one both dark and reflective, becoming increasingly harsh as the album progresses.
In addition to the announcement of their LP, Sugary Sweet Machines has released a single to promote the album. The single, entitled "Long Walk Home," which will be the second track on
the album, is available for streaming via bandcamp. A music video for the song, created by
Post-hardcore group Survival Knife (featuring Justin Trosper and Brandt Sandeno of '90s
noise rock/post-hardcore legends Unwound) has made their debut LP Loose Power available to
stream via Pitchfork Advance. The album will be released April 29 through Glacial Pace.

Scar the Martyr have reportedly fired their lead singer, Henry Derek over creative, artistic and business differences. While Derek claims to have left the band of his own accord, drummer
Joey Jordison has since claimed that he was fired from the band. The group are now holding open auditions for his replacement:

For the first time in fifteen years, American Football will perform together. There will only be two reunion
shows, one at the Pygmalion Music Festival in Urbana, IL on September 28th, and one at Webster Hall in New
York City on October 11th. Tickets will be available this Friday (April 25th, 2014) through the band's website.
The Pixies had an extra little surprise for folks who purchased their new album, Indie Cindy, on Record Story Day. It took the form of a 7" single with a brand, spanking new song called Women of War. A very generous chap ripped the track and uploaded it to YouTube.

This also happens to land on 4/20, which as far as I know is only mere conscience (Although my judgement is admittedly a bit faded at the moment. Josh Klinghoffer's project Dot Hacker have released a 7" vinyl single to coincide with
Record Store Day on the 19th of April.
The 7" consists of the previously released single 'Whatever You Want' and a song entitled
'Memory', both of which are taken from the upcoming album How's Your Process?. The
album is rumoured, according to news reports, to be released in two parts, one in July and
one in September.

On the 17th of April, Yuck returned with a surprise EP, entitled Southern Skies. The
shoegaze influenced EP moves the band further afield from their superfuzz grunge influenced
self-titled debut album and continues the lilting, more hazy atmosphere of their sophomore
offering, Glow And Behold.
