Tuesday, May 21st Filter have premiered another song off their upcoming record, The Sun Comes Out Tonight. According to front man Richard Patrick, 'Self-Inflicted' tells the story from a mass shooter's point of view.
He also added: “I wanted to try and understand the mass shooter, so I created a character, wrote the lyrics and performed it from the perspective of the shooter … based on the psychology I read that said there was a pattern,” he explains. “For example, an event like Columbine, [looking at it as if] the shooters were the victims and that somehow we or society made them do it — that somehow they were the victims. That this was self-inflicted.”

Two days ago, Eric Avery announced his desire to quit from the current Nine Inch Nails line-up. He admitted it was a tough decision, but he felt overwhelmed by the number of dates continuously growing. He commented: "I really want to focus on my musical life here in L.A., on film work in particular. As the tour dates kept growing… I just got overwhelmed. I just got home from a year of heavy travel with Garbage, the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that nails demands… fortunately my friend Trent understands all this and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14. Go get 'em gentlemen."
Now, Trent Reznor announced the inclusion of Robin Finck to the line-up. Finck is the only collaborator who joined Nine Inch Nails for four major tours so far (Self Destruct/Further Down The Spiral in 1994-1995, Fragile 1.0/2.0 in 1999-2000 and most recently Lights In The Sky and Wave Goodbye tours in 2008 a ... more

Even though Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen mentioned Relapse as the band's final record, himself along with guitar players Sin Quirin, the late Mike Scaccia, bassist Tony Campos and live drummer Aaron Rossi returned last December into the studio to track new songs. Describing those sessions as some of the most creative and fun ever, 18 tracks were recorded in 19 days.
After Mike Scaccia's death on December 23, Jourgensen went back to the studio to finish Ministry's 13th effort, entitled From Beer To Eternity. Scheduled to be release sometime in September, it will be Ministry's last record. Jourgensen commented “Maybe we’ll do one big show with Tommy and Sin and the guys who made this band possible for the past few years. That would be a nice tribute to Mikey. But I can’t do a whole tour without him. Ministry was his life almost as much as mine, and I’m afraid it has to die with him. But damn if we didn’t go out with a bang!”.

KMFDM premiered an official stream of their latest record. Kunst, via Revolver Magazine. The band's 18th studio effort is due out on February 26.
Regarding the inspiration during the creative process, Sascha Konietzko said “Inspiration is everywhere. Unless one lives in a sequestered environment, the bombardment of inspiration is inescapable. KUNST, like every other KMFDM album to this point, is in a way both a mirror of what inspired us during the process of writing and composing it, as well as a snapshot of where the band was in it’s own timeline. Even though the direct translation of the german word ‘Kunst’ is ‘art’, ‘Kunst’ has a broader meaning for Germans, and Europeans in general, than ‘art’ has for native English speakers. Especially since the early 20th century, art has been politically instrumentalized, for example in propaganda of ultra-right and hard-left movements. Many ‘degenerate’ artists have been sent to concentration camps to be systemat ... more

Mindless Self Indulgence have decided to hold their upcoming record, which has yet to be named, hostage. The band have started a kickstarter project to fund the album, complete with a plethora of CAPS LOCK paragraphs and a brainwashing, borderline annoying video to give potential investors a break from reading all the capitalization.
At the time of this writing the project has $95,769 in donations, and with a goal of $150,000 the new album likely be funded before the remaining 34 days of the project are up. The pledge package incentives range from a copy of the album to keyboards, guitars, and some of the female member's tour t-shirts.
As far as a release date, the band had this to say: "Assuming that we meet our goal, the brand new full length Mindless Self Indulgence album will be released the 13th of March 2013."
