In a story that's quickly making its rounds throughout the music blogosphere, it's being reported that a fan was impaled to death in an accident during a Chevelle show on the 24th.
Originally attributed to the Chicago Tribune, it's being reported that the victim and two of his friends wandered behind the stage before the victim fell approximately 6 to 8 feet off a catwalk onto two metal rods. Naturally, the show was stopped once the body was found.

To accompany it, the band will release a live album titled The Bay Calls For Blood, featuring the recordings of a show made in San Francisco, their hometown. The live album will also be available separately on vinyl. The above will be released on the 24th of July.

German drummer and multi-instrumentist Marco Minnemann, renown for his work with jazz-rock trio The Aristocrats as well as as a session musician for Steven Wilson and Joe Satriani in recent years, has recently detailed his upcoming solo release, entitled Celebration.
Minnemann has described Celebration as more cohesive than his previous album, 2014's EEPS. The record will be developing his signature melodic, progressive and pop rock sound further, "with an overall more heavy rock approach and occasionally moving into dark and film music-like territories and interludes".
The musician, performing all instruments on the record himself, has previewed the album in a promotional video which you can view here, featuring drawings by Carolina Rodriguez:
