| Record Store Day 'Fifteen'
I'm now poorer than the poorest man in Northeast Ohio | 1 | | Sun Ra Calling Planet Earth
Pink swirl(?) vinyl, pressed at Pallas - dope live album that was overlooked hard | 2 | | The Stooges Have Some Fun: Live At Unganos
Black/White splatter vinyl, comes with "a big ass poster", and like the original recording, sounds decent for an audience recording - the post-Fun House line-up with Zeke Zettner and Bill Cheatham, a roadie for the band that played guitar shortly before James Williamson came in to form the short-lived "two-guitar line-up " in 1971. | 3 | | Swans Swans
Finally a reissue, comes with a lyrics insert. Very simple, the way it really should be to be honest. | 4 | | The Residents Intermission
MoV reissue, was on the fence about this one since the OP is about cheaper so I may get the original to compare later on, was claimed to be on clear vinyl, but wasn't. No big deal anyways. | 5 | | Manic Street Preachers The Holy Bible
"20th Anniversary U.S. mix" - picture disc = ehh. especially with the cover, which will always leave me scratching my head. Could be worse, it could be the one the U.K. got with that clusterfuck of a disc. | 6 | | Brian Eno My Squelchy Life
The fabled "lost" album that was replaced with Nerve Net in '92 after Warner forced this to be delayed to Feb. '92. Definitely gonna write something about this soon in the next week or two. | 7 | | Electric Wizard Time to Die
"Buy Fuckin' Vinyl or Die!!!" - the hype sticker says it all, on clear vinyl and with a dope poster as well, fit for a dorm or apartment. | 8 | | David Bowie Scary Monsters
Already have this, but just gonna use this since it's relevant to this next one.
Tom Verlaine/David Bowie - Kingdom Come 7" split on white vinyl, it's hard to decide which one's better since they both have their shining moments. | 9 | | Syd Barrett Opel
(see above)
Syd Barrett/R.E.M. - Dark Globe 7" on purple vinyl, got this on a whim and I am not regretting it one bit. Syd's side is definitely the better of the two, but R.E.M.'s side definitely captures the mood of the original well - it's clear as to why they were chosen as the other half. | 10 | | Merzbow and Xiu Xiu MERZXIU
Black/Red splatter vinyl, pre-ordered from Kingfisher Bluez cause I was worried my store wasn't gonna get it. Spoiler: Lucky Records didn't get it and my judgement was right on the mark. Had to pay extra since the label is located in Canada, so I'm waiting for this to show up. Soundz abound~ | |

04.19.15 | So fellow sputs, what did you get yesterday? I had doubts about this year, but it was probably better than last year's RSD. Could do without the Boss reissues though, what's the point?
Probably will pickup the Xiu Xiu reissue and the Polaris that was left over soon | JamieTwort
04.19.15 | I think you've already seen what I got from when I posted in the other threads so I won't post again. The only ones I didn't find that I wish had are that Sun Ra album and the Bardo Pond release. | MoosechriS
04.19.15 | Only thing i got was the metallica no life till leather cassette and that was bought online as i forgot it was record store day and only remembered later on. I will prepare for next year and hopefully go nuts | Frippertronics
04.19.15 | yeah I believe so, was interested in the OPN II, but there was only one copy where I was and it was gone quick. Same goes for the Tull, but I way over my budget by the time I saw it and it went quick too.
Really disappointed in the choice of Flaming Lips this year, 10" EPs? really lame in comparison to last year's 7 Skies H3. | JamieTwort
04.19.15 | I don't know how many copies of the OPN release my record store had but when I got in I couldn't see it and then it randomly appeared in a place I'd already looked (somebody must have put it back). Best moment of this years record store day experience tbh. | Frippertronics
04.19.15 | nice man, I'm definitely thinking about getting the Goldfrapp and the Air 7" cause I'm sure those were not bought yet. Same for the Xiu Xiu and Polaris. | JamieTwort
04.19.15 | I really want the Sun Ra and Bardo Pond releases but I don't think I'll be able to get them without paying triple the price for them on ebay. | Frippertronics
04.19.15 | the Sun Ra I got was 24.98, though I couldn't find the other one. I honestly didn't know there was gonna be any Sun Ra this year so when I saw Calling Planet Earth, I picked it up without a second thought. Recent Sun Ra though is cheap, and I wouldn't rule out the prices going down by this fall, or there being a normal reissue on black vinyl by next year at the latest. Plus, some stores post their left-over stock online so there's the chance any Sun Ra or Bardo Pond will show up. | Frippertronics
04.19.15 | But nonetheless, I'm very sure you'll find what you seek eventually. |
