Cyberduck 09.11.15	Currently hearing into it, sounds alright but the first half seems a little flat and could have used more "definition" imo. Still quite good for a home effort, reminds me of Plateau's "Space Cake".

Drummerboy123 09.11.15	Cheers for giving it a listen guys! I'll definitely take your feedback on board for the next project, always aiming to improve. In terms of style, I feel this is something I needed to get out of my system. I had a lot of poppy, post-rock stuff coming out of me and felt deviating from that would feel forced so I went with it. Next release is gonna be quite different to say the least now that this is out of my system. I'm glad you gave it a shot though :).

Final Origin 09.11.15	Just had a listen to the whole album, it is consistent in theme and I love how they all connect to each other so well. There are some great textures in there, some subtle sounds that really add to the listening experience. The creativity and songwriting are also great, I can tell you put a lot into the structuring and how each track has its own story. On a more critical note, I felt that the production felt "too balanced" if you know what I mean, where at the times the drums didn't feel as powerful or dynamic as I thought it should have been and sometimes I was expecting more powerful climaxes, where one instrument or melody would take off and stand out from the rest. But again, thats my observation of it, and possibly that is what you were intending. It was great fun working with you on this album though, its a great release and I hope it does well for you :)

The reason the drums sound different on each track is just experimenting with mics and plugins. I definitely was still trying to find my feet with the mixing. RadicalEd 09.12.15	For an album by drummerboy123 the drums sure are the weakest point. You could work on the production, it kinda feels uneven between the different tracks. But it's not bad at all especially since this is probably homemade. A lot of the textures and guitar work are quite nice and the album has a really decent flow to it, but while it's all nice and all it really could use a little more flashiness at points. Overall i see a lot of potential in this record, but you haven't really found your sound yet.

Final Origin 09.12.15	Thanks for the compliment on my album man! Tbh, for your first album it is actually very strong. It took me a while to get the production I wanted right with lots of practice and loads of failed ideas, but I feel I am getting there with every release. So I'd say keep pushing out ideas that are outside your comfort zone and you will learn new things and progress your music even further.

Whilst mixing at first the drums were extremely overpowering, I think that may have been me just being a drummer so I consciously mixed them more quiet and took some punch out. On hindsight it may not have been the best idea. Thanks for the feedback though!

joshuahuntkc 09.12.15	As far as mixing drums goes work on layering snare and kick to solidify the sound. Don't be afraid of the kick snare and crash Punching and slapping out of the mix a little. It's much better to have the percussive instruments at a level you can feel than the guitars. Percussion needs to support the instruments. Make sure you're mixing on a decent set of studio monitors. This sounds like a headphone mix to me.
Drummerboy123 09.12.15	It was mixed on monitors but their not the best and tend to have quite a low end sound to them which now I think is why the drums sound weak because I was mixing on them and they sounded insanely deep so I EQ'd them to make them a bit more thinner. I definitely need to reference mix a lot more often. Thanks for the advice!

Beardog 09.14.15	To improve the mixing, referencing indeed helps a lot, compressing the drums a little also helps, just layer a compressed track and an uncompressed track, otherwise it will sound really wierd (maybe you already did that, not sure) You're record sounds really nice, the drums are the only thing that are just off. Great work dude, keep it on!

It can especially be struggling if you've no idea what style to go for as well, so I just let the music take control and go where it felt natural. Which I think speaks for itself in how the album flows.

'Hey Drummer, want me to review it?' Yeah man go for it. This whole release has been awesome for me, both in terms of me getting used to being an artist and dealing with feedback.

Drummerboy123 09.19.15	Your music sounds great, I love the synths you use in your songs! You have a ton of potential, it just needs that higher level of production value to take it from sounding like a demo to a finished album. I think that what draws people, if it's a demo or an unfinished piece of work people are less likely to give it a listen. It's not all about comments, if you look there are quite a few people here who don't like what I'm making and that's totally cool. I mean, the average rating for the album kinda speaks for itself. I think it's a pretty polarising album and that also brings people in. Just my 2 cents.

Keep pushing your ideas out Beardog, you have great potential in your songwriting and I am sure when it is done, you will get more people checking it out.

Cyberduck 09.23.15	Just a tip, you could try to work on the transients in your drums by using compression with very long attacks and short release (e.g. with MCompressor), which works basically as a quick volume envelope. Putting an EQ before it then should be good for getting out the right accents.
