passion pieces is cheesy but it's not too bad. if you want it cohesive, maybe not a double album bro.
a double album is pretty ambitious which is pretty admirable. i cant really offer any advice but i'm definitely looking forward to hearing what you end up making.
So this is an indie pop album? That's what the album title implies at least.
Don't be afraid to experiment. Experimental music is awesome.
I don't think it's ever a good idea to ask for suggestions for artist names. The suggestions are always uninspired and cliched. Good luck with this though.
|Never be afraid to experiment with your sound
Let me know when it's complete or when you have a couple tracks up on Soundcloud / Youtube and I'll
check it out.|
Go in 100 percent or not at all. If something ends up being half assed, scrap it. That shit will gnaw at you long after you release the record. Make sure to get a good mixing and mastering job done on it.

Oh trust me I am. There's some autechre stuff going on in 1 or 2 of these tracks. Hoping to get some saxophone and rap vocals on some of these tracks as well. Need to come up with a new album title, was thinking of naming it after one of tracks but that would put emphasis on a certain song, which I don't really want.
If I ever make an album, I'm naming it 'Life of the Funeral'.
To decide a title, you first need to know what themes your album centers around, can you give a rough description of your themes? I think I might help
It's kind of rough atm. But the main concept is to do with love triangles and the things people go through in order to find their true love.
Is that an ETID reference, Shark?
my advice is mid-2016 is a pretty freaking long timeframe, setting a deadline for yourself a fair amount sooner will make you get shit done quicker and, most likely, better
^ Agreeing with that. Also, if you have 15 tracks and are only making 16, then why do you need two years?
make the album you want to make. if people dig it, cool. If they don't, you made the album you wanted to make and you'll dig it regardless
Also, I would say take a long hard look at what you have in terms of quality stuff. Cut as much fat as you can so that you only have content that you feel really strongly about and is the best of the best.
'Also, if you have 15 tracks and are only making 16, then why do you need two years?'
Most of the tracks aren't yet finished and I like to write a lot more than I need. Preferably going to have 100 or so by the end of 2015. Then gonna choose the best of the best. Thing is, work, uni and social life tend to take up a lot of my time atm. If it I had a solid week or 2 to just write music I'd probably get 2-3 songs fully finished. But it's mainly the mix where i get OCD about things. Spend way too much time altering tiny things that people won't really notice.
'Cut as much fat as you can so that you only have content that you feel really strongly about and is the best of the best. '
This is basically what I'll be doing from now till the album's release.
'make the album you want to make. if people dig it, cool. If they don't, you made the album you wanted to make and you'll dig it regardless'
See this sounds like an easy concept, and yeah I am proud of the stuff I'm making but if people listened to it and didn't enjoy it, I'd feel a bit shitty. Even tho I like it. Just human nature I suppose.
"if people listened to it and didn't enjoy it, I'd feel a bit shitty. Even tho I like it. Just human nature I suppose."
yeah I get that man, but I think what 'chemicalmarriage' means is that you shouldn't shape your music based on what other people want, but on what you want.
