Limp Bizkit Ranked

Nu metal, Angry white boi rock, or as Durst himself has called them, A satirical/comedy band. Well regardless of how you feel about them, one thing is sure, you didn't ask for this band to be ranked.

New Old Songs

Around 2001, Wes, the primary songwriter, leaves the band. This release feels like Durst and co saw the writing on the wall and that their 15 minutes in the spotlight were coming to a close, so they scrabbled together and called some people up to do some remixes as fast as they could to get a release out as soon as possible for a bit more money, and man they really show. there are 5 remixes of "My way" and they all suck, and the album ends with 3 remixes of my way so you get to hear the same damn song 3 times! This album is also horribly, horribly dated as this as an "of the times" sound all thought, though this is bad even by the standards of being dated! all the best parts of LB are completely gone here, and somehow this lazy uninspired incredibly boring and tedious "Remix" album is one of the best selling remixes of all time. Knowing how popular this remix album was back then makes me feel bad for anyone going to the gym in the early 2000s (knowing how much gyms love remixes)

after Wes Borderland left, Durst spends this album continuing to desperately try to find a new direction to take the group in a rather disjointed and sloppy effort that is a real slog and chore to listen through. there is a good reason why this album is forgotten and why when someone thinks Limp Bizkit, no one thinks "eat you alive". The album also implores many guest features and none of them stick out. this album is an absolute train wreck that killed LB In the mainstream, even if it did had some good sales on release, this album has been largely forgotten, and let us keep it that way.

Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water

This is a singles album where some of the singles sucked (*cough* "My Way" *cough*), do not get me wrong there are some good cuts here, however the rest of it ranges from sub-par too, well flat out bad. This album is also way too long too, as the album has some bad pacing. If there is something good that came out of this, Crystal Lake's cover of "Rollin".

Significant Other

The band changed their sound a bit on their sophomore album, the music toned down the aggression a bit and incorporated more hip-hop influences that made the album much more commercial friendly. The songwriting also changed to be less serious on this album and more focused on an intentional silly tone, singles on this are pretty solid, and there are some hidden gems on here, I think one thing that hurts the album is for the rest...its just there. this album has a bit of what feels to be filler, and it gets hard to tell the difference between some songs here.
3/5 (barley, it is like a hair from being a 2.5)
3Limp Bizkit
Gold Cobra

Limp Bizkit return to a sound most people are familiar with in their 2011 outing. aside from some "boomer rock" moments here and there (looking at the prelude for "Autotunage"), this is a solid album, I would say this was a good comeback album, but the band is in limbo with studio releases again with "Disco stampede of elephants" aka "Nu-Metal Chinese democracy"

The Unquestionable Truth - Part I

so Limb Bizkit get serious here and tackle some dark themes like...well the catholic church scandals. This one is a bit of a return to form, but at the same time, it does sound so good. who knew rage against the Bizkit would work?

Three Dollar Bill Y'all

Hot damn this album goes hard. this album has great energy thought it and it is well-paced too. This album is an underrated Nu-Metal gem. seriously. It is crazy just different this album sounds to the rest of the catalog, the aggression here is rawer and Durst actually sounds good here(there are some silly moments here too). There is a 16-minute long improvised jam session at the end of this album that does go on for too long and is not the best way to close the album, but regardless this is an essential album in the Nu-Metal cannon
