My Top 10 Big Beat Anthems

Some electronica goodness, yummy! And Big Beat, furthermore: explosive dance tracks that make your head spin. Many of them have an "anthemic quality" which I really, really love. The irony is, I sometimes have difficulties making the distinction between "Big Beat" and proper "breakbeat". In a nutshell, I kind of see it as this: Big Beat has larger breaks and a "fatter" groove if I may say so. Its sound is more "in-your- face" too, I think. But the frontier is still thin. Of course, I have still much to learn from electronica and this is only from what I know of the Big Beat genre. If you have recs for me, by all means tell me!!! And, oh yes - the Chemical Brothers are gonna rule this list ;)
10The Chemical Brothers
Three Little Birdies Down Beats

How dare I?! Am I ignoring "Leave Home", "Song to the Siren" and even "Chemical
Beats"? Of course not. Those are superb tracks. But "Three Little Birdies" has such
an infectious and pounding acid sound. # 10.
9Groove Armada
I See You Baby

Is it more house than Big Beat? I don't know. Maybe. Who knows? Whatever the
case, it has a fantastic bassline that will make your dog or your cat dance. #9.
8Fluke
Atom Bomb

Awww yeah. "Baby's got an atom-bomb". Industrial. Earthshake. This track is
racing, racing, sky is no limit. This will make the dancefloor crumble! #8.
7The Crystal Method
Name of the Game

Perfect mix of rock and electronica. The Crystal Methodists rule the game, indeed,
with this huge hybrid stormer. #7.
6The Prodigy
Their Law

The Prodigy is more breakbeat-oriented, even though the distinction is hard to
make with them. "Their Law" has such vast and towering percussions, though. It
has the footsteps of a giant. #6.
5The Chemical Brothers
Elektrobank

The masters again, obviously. Long long track with a thousand of elements in it. So
complex and good. Brilliant vocal hook which, as a French-speaking person, I
cannot repeat as fast: "Who is this doin' this synthetic type of alpha beta
psychedelic funkin'?" #5.
4Propellerheads
Spybreak!

The Matrix. Attitude. Sunglasses. Video games. Slowmotions. Need I say more? #4.
3Fatboy Slim
Right Here, Right Now

Such a unique track in Fatboy Slim's discography. Spellbinding and adventurous.
There is none like it. Every movie soundtrack wants a hit like this. "My favorite
artist right now is Fatboy SLIM, that guy kicks ASS!" #3.
2The Rockafeller Skank

"Right about now, the funk soul brother / Check it out now, the funk soul brother!"
The pitch-perfect road-trip song. #2.
1The Chemical Brothers
Block Rockin' Beats

The One and Only, behold! This track will crush the armies of Mordor. I still dream
to hear this monster live, because I haven't. What a vocal hook. What a drop.
What a bassline. What a life-pumping titan it is. #1.
