In case anyone is curious about ASC commenting on it:

"This is a very special release to me. I debuted the first disc of this release, along with
'The Light That Burns Twice As Bright' (also on Silent Season), back in May 2011 at a small
intimate venue in Tokyo. Upon listening to this, it evokes a lot of great memories and
feelings in me, and for that, I will always hold this LP dear to my heart. Disc 2 of this
release was written when I returned from Tokyo. I spent the next few months going through
field recordings I made out there and started to weave them in with my textures and pads."

"I met a lot of great people on that visit who I can now proudly call my friends. One of
them said to me after my set that I should send this material to Silent Season, as it'd be a
great fit. The time is well and truly right to drop what I feel is my ambient opus to date.
I hope you enjoy Time Heals All as much as I enjoyed writing it." - ASC

Cern Under Another Sky
If this isn't drum & bass AOTY then I don't know what else can be.

edit: Confirmed. Probably the genre's most important artist right now. Ollie Macky drops his
sophomore album on Dispatch Recordings, an even more ambitious project than "Terminus" (which was
already ambitious in its own right). Elegant urban percussive outfit in the twilight, ponctuated
by several gorgeous ambient sketches. A continuation of the techstep-fueled morphing and thick
sound of his latest 12' singles ('Raven Row', 'Pinch Me', 'Nevada Ghost'), and a swell londonian
take on the everlasting D&B City, Under Another Sky is a titanic and majestic drum & bass album
that now cements the place of Cern alongside 4hero, Photek, Calibre and Klute in the junglist hall
of fame. Wow, wow, wow. How he will top those two albums later on is a question I can't answer and
a concept I can't fathom either. Holding second place behind Objekt for electronic AOTY.

It's so impressive how ASC (and his collabs!) manages to craft beats and percussions.
Machine Love is a wonderful stroll on the lightened electronic bridges. It's minimal
DnB that almost plunges into the realm of IDM and produces a little bit of a techno vibe.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark English Electric
With a contemporary production, it's 1980 all over again. Andy's vocals are in top
shape - it's actually hard to believe he is beyond 50 years old - and Paul still has plenty
of synth inspiration. The melodies and the sounds have a clear OMD signature all over them.
It has the freshness of the debut album, the gorgeousness of A&M and the
conceptuality of DS. While History of Modern was already a great comeback,
English Electric is the definitive statement: OMD sound almost as much inspired as
they were in their youth back in the heyday of Architecture & Morality and Dazzle
Ships
. It may not be groundbreaking like those, it is golden and perfect synthpop no
less.

BT A Song Across Wires
I am genuinely disappointed by this album. And I'm the kind of guy who 4.5s and 5s A LOT of
things. You could say I rate on impulse. A Song Across Wires sounds like an LP solely
made to appeal to the so-called "EDM" masses and market. I truly feel a lack of inspiration
and vision on this one, because inspiration and vision are precisely what made Ima
one of the greatest dance albums ever. Some valuable melodies here and there (i.e. on
"Skylarking"), but otherwise - generic beats, generic vocals, uninteresting
sounds and nonexistent atmospheres. For me, biggest let down of the year so far. In
fact, rarely have I been so disappointed by an album - it must be because I freakin'
love Ima and I expected too much.
