A Changed (space)man

So recently I've embarked on a journey to better myself and to find out what truly makes me happy to be alive, and what I strive for in that existence. 8 days ago I was forced to breakup with the girl of my dreams because towards the end of our near-perfect two year relationship, she started to question her feelings about me. Naturally that was the most painful thing I could hear, and the line finally drew when she told me she bought a ticket to Bonnaroo and went without me. Long story short, I ripped the bandaid off before it could do anymore harm by breaking up with her when she got back from the festival. Now I?ve been sorting through my life and have honestly improved myself in ways I never could have imagined. I was addicted to weed and smoked every day for the past 5 years. I quit cold turkey as soon as I broke up with my ex and I?ve never felt better. My plan is to cut down my dopamine receptors because they are clogged as all hell (I was a slave to them and I admit it? I was addicted to drugs and sex and instant gratification). I also quit selling weed and was just hired today after applying to the local gas station (have to start somewhere). I?m gonna focus on my Engineering degree more and I?ve been spending a lot of time with my family and friends and my life has been a lot better than I expected after this breakup. Sure I miss the girl I fell in love with, but I can?t dwell in the past. I only hope her life is going just as great as mine, because she seemed more destroyed about cutting off all contact than I was. Thanks for reading sputnik, I just wanted to vent to people who don?t know my true face, it?s easier to get it off your chest and ignore any judgment that comes out of it.
