demigod!
03.05.13 | didnt know 80% of these bands even existed. nice job |
Keyblade
03.05.13 | people still dig nu metal in 2013? |
demigod!
03.05.13 | 1 actually sounds p good from the review |
VlacDrac
03.05.13 | I thought this genre didn't exist anymore. |
MuhNamesTyler
03.05.13 | Whoa dude I haven't thought about Unloco in years |
TrstN01
03.05.13 | It does still exist, and there's even new bands in it. For example, nuERA. |
Inveigh
03.05.13 | when I want nu metal I might jam Snot or that specific Mudvayne album
but honestly I'd rather rock Adrenaline, 3 Dollar Bill Y'all, Gift by Taproot, the first two Sevendust albums or some old System or Incubus
really you're probably just better off rocking Faith No More, Helmet, Rage Against the Machine, etc |
NeoSpaz
03.05.13 | motograter is a bit fun
funny that now Ivan Moody shoves suicide prevention down everyone's throats despite him telling people to kill themselves on the s/t |
YankeeDudel
03.05.13 | All those names and no KoRn shame on you inveigh shame on you |
PerditionTheElder
03.05.13 | Sweet list. Not sure if this falls under lesser-known bands, but I still frequent:
Flaw - Endangered Species
Element Eighty - s/t and Bear |
osmark86
03.05.13 | Awesome mention of Pulse Ultra. actually listening to that album right now for old times' sake m/ |
BigBlob
03.05.13 | where the fuck is Gold Cobra? |
osmark86
03.05.13 | hahaha |
Keyblade
03.05.13 | lol mallcore...i laugh when 15 y/o metal elitists use that word |
osmark86
03.05.13 | well dismissing entire genres is a tour de force in the arsenal of the elitist |
osmark86
03.05.13 | Another nu-metalish album hugely overlooked is Topsy Turvy by The Apex Theory. they could've been big, but never made it for various reasons. |
osmark86
03.05.13 | duly noted |
Inveigh
03.05.13 | Yankee I was never all that into Korn... I think I had their first few albums, but they were never among my most played |
RevenantBlue
03.05.13 | @Perdition: I'm actually a bigger fan of Chris Volz in Five.Bolt.Main. than I am of him in Flaw, but
that album is great. Element Eighty should have also been included. Maybe some other list?
@Osmark86: Yes!! I used to love that album. Definitely making another list at some point.

KjSwantko
03.05.13 | "Flaw - Endangered Species"
Through the Eyes is so much better. |
RevenantBlue
03.05.13 | Disagree, "Through the Eyes" felt really empty whenever Volz wasn't belting out a chorus |
DeadToPain
03.05.13 | I remember really digging that Deadlights album when it came out. Haven't listened to it in ages, I think I actually still own it if I dig through my boxes. And I almost recorded an album at Rick from Sw1tched's studio, but didn't because he said he wanted us to be "more poppy and slickly produced". He was still a pretty cool guy, though. The good ol' days. |
DominionMM1
03.05.13 | i still bust out korn's first record every now and then. '94 ftw. |
MuhNamesTyler
03.05.13 | The guitars on Element Eighty's The Bear are a lot of fun. Used to love that album |
MegaJake1024
03.05.13 | no hybrid theory and early slipknot is insane [2]
Couldn't agree more. And I like some FFDP, don't know why so many people hate them except the obvious reason that they're popular because of some not very good songs.

03.05.13 | oltna's gonna be pissed! |
RevenantBlue
03.06.13 | The thing with Hybrid Theory and early Slipknot is that I wore those albums out years ago, when I thought they were the absolute pinnacle of music. Just lump them in under L.D. 50's entry on the list. |
osmark86
03.06.13 | I thought Invitation to the Dance by 40 Below Summer was a pretty cool nĂ¼-metal album. they're obviously good musicians and some songs on that album rock real hard, like Falling Down, Wither Away and Jonesin'. |
cb123
03.06.13 | Have a crack at Superheist....aussies contribution to nu-metal, and pretty dam good for the most part |
osmark86
03.06.13 | any particular album? |
cb123
03.06.13 | 8 miles high and Identical Remote COntrolled Reactions are probably their best work |
joseph99
03.08.13 | I would also include Incubus "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." album, although i'm sure a few people would hesitate to call them nu metal |
