As I’m revamping a lot of my older ratings I realise the amount of stuff I just slapped a 4 on, yet barely ever want to, or intend on hearing again. I get stricter over time, but that certainly doesn’t mean I’m enjoying music less, honestly as much as I may seem like a grumpy arse a lot of the time it’s a blast discovering new things here (and rediscovering stuff you dismissed / didn’t like initially) |

06.06.23 | A 5 to me doesn't necessarily mean all the tracks are 5/5 but I look at how they fit into structure of the album as a whole. I gave Mr. Morale a 3.5 but I legit only like 3 songs off of it for repeated listens because a lot of the songs fit into an in depth meaningful narrative. DAMN has more individual bops but it is a weaker album and idc about the overarching religious parallels to it. |

06.19.23 | I can't rate things properly, everything I like is 3.5 and up in my head and usually 4, and it's very unusual for me to actually get to the point of listening to something I would dislike these days because I get a vibe of things before trying them. Then in the case I properly don't like it I'll just go listen to something else, so I just end up with positive ratings only basically.
But that's how my brain works so why worry about it, never going to be objective and be able to rank things properly. |
