Movies I've Seen Recently
1Seppuku Paradigm
Martyrs OST

"Martyrs" (France - 2008 - Pascal Laugier) I bought this movie after wanting to see it
for ages. Oddly enough, I'd probably have a hard time watching it even once more.
Bloody, nihilistic, and emotionally destructive, but brilliant as well. The horror of this
movie goes beyond just the images shown, but also the motives of the film's
antagonists. A terribly graphic yet provocative approach to modern gore flicks. You'll
need pretty think skin to sit through this one. Pretty cool soundtrack, too. 3.5/5

"Oldboy" (Korea - 2003 - Park Chan-Wook) A near classic. This film is so visually
captivating, has a great script, and a plot reveal that will keep you reeling for years
to come. Also, the performances are so well done in so many ways. The depth of the
plot makes for several re-watchings with new details to be discovered each time. An
iconic soundtrack. Truly superb. 4.5/5
3Howard Shore
The Fellowship of the Ring

"Panic Room" (USA - 2002 - David Fincher) This movie shreds your nerves down to
their thinnest with intense situations and sudden changes in plot. Its Hollywood look
doesn't keep it from being one of the most nail-bitingly raw movies I've ever seen. A
dark sense of humor, a smart script (with a few forgivable hiccups), and awesome
performances. A decent soundtrack. 4/5
