The Sixth Hundred Shows
Remember shows? |
1 | | Burial Dance A Shadow / A Vessel
The Kingsland, Brooklyn, 7/6/2019
NYC bound, second time back in the city. By chance I found out that Dangers was having a lowkey surprise show a few days before we went. Unfortunately I dropped my ID at customs so I couldn't legally drink anywhere. Also luckily is that New York isn't keen on checking.
Anyway this band used to be called Low Light and now have this name. |
2 | | Closer (US) All This Will Be
The Kingsland, Brooklyn, 7/6/2019 |
3 | | Vale Burden of Sight
The Kingsland, Brooklyn, 7/6/2019 |
4 | | SOUL GLO The Nigga In Me Is Me
The Kingsland, Brooklyn, 7/6/2019 |
5 | | Dangers Anger
The Kingsland, Brooklyn, 7/6/2019
Bucket List band and hugely important to my formative years. They put on an absolute killer set in front of about 30 people. Al is surprisingly one of the sweetest and nicest person I have met at a show.
Also the pizza at the Kingsland is great. |
6 | | Combo Nuvo One World Suite
The Blue Note, Manhattan, 7/8/2019
Next day, hangover brunch. I remember being really nervous going to this club, cause I'm not used to more high scale places. It was a lovely show though, and it featured an amazing vocal jazz track by this elderly lady.
Shortly Later, returned back to comfortable roots with Clockwork Bar on the Lower East Side. New York People are the nicest. |
7 | | The Guess Who Canned Wheat
Buck Hill, Burnsville, 7/13/2019
skipped Foghat opening for them because that sounds like a terrible time. This was cool, the singer was super drunk/high tho. |
8 | | awakebutstillinbed what people call low self-esteem is really...
Cedar Cultural Center, Minneapolis, 8/1/2019 |
9 | | Joyce Manor Million Dollars To Kill Me
Cedar Cultural Center, Minneapolis, 8/1/2019
So good. First time seeing them. |
10 | | Saves the Day 9
Cedar Cultural Center, Minneapolis, 8/1/2019 |
11 | | The Doobie Brothers Toulouse Street
Xcel Energy Center, 8/3/2019 |
12 | | Santana Supernatural
Xcel Energy Center, 8/3/2019
Supernatural front to back. I also found out during this show that I do not like Supernatural at all. Spent most the time waiting for Abraxas-era tracks. |
13 | | Tongue Party Looking For A Painful Death
Mortimer's Minneapolis, 8/10/2019
local super group, Novacron, opened up.
Slayed. |
14 | | Multicult Position Remote
Mortimer's Minneapolis, 8/10/2019 |
15 | | The Lioness Growing Pains
Wild Waters Music Festival
Bayfront Park, Duluth, 8/16/2019

20 | | Doomtree All Hands
Wild Waters Music Festival
Bayfront Park, Duluth, 8/16/2019 |
21 | | Atmosphere You Can't Imagine How Much Fun...

Bayfront Park, Duluth, 8/16/2019 |
22 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
The Legacy of the Beast
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, 8/26/2019
This was super last minute, but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I skipped out on Iron Maiden. Old news, but oh my god Iron Maiden is amazing live. It was never boring for a single minute and the set up they had was ludicrous. And I got to accomplish my dream of being in a Maiden mosh pit and to finally hear Hallowed Be Thy Name live. |
23 | | Trinity Test Trinity Test
Mortimer's, Minneapolis, 8/29/2019
local young crust punkers
the real story was UFOTOFU which was old local punks, and they have legit zero presence on the internet besides a facebook page. They rule, I love them to pieces. |
24 | | The Vibrators Pure Mania
Mortimer's, Minneapolis, 8/29/2019
Incredibly these guys are still a band. Their original member, Eddie, looked miserable leading up to the show, but they were pretty damn fun still. |
25 | | Dessa Chime
State Fair Bandshell, Falcon Heights, 9/1/2019 |
26 | | Astronautalis Sike!
Motosota
Bauhaus Brew Labs, Minneapolis, 9/7/2019
Unfortunately got here as the Bad Man was wrapping their set up, but it was a beautiful outdoor set.
this was also Astronautalis' final show before he moved to NYC. It was just as incredible as when I saw him 6 years ago as a high schooler. I got to talk to him after the set and we talked about that show for a while. |
27 | | Youth Fountain Letters to Our Former Selves
7th Street Entry, Minneapolis, 9/8/2019
Completely last second decision to go to this show |
28 | | Chris Farren Born Hot
7th Street Entry, Minneapolis, 9/8/2019
Fuck you Chris Farren for being simultaneously hilarious, charming, and depressing all at once. We love Chris Farren. |
29 | | Free Throw Those Days Are Gone
7th Street Entry, Minneapolis, 9/8/2019
7 beers in and already its one of those nights |
30 | | Pkew Pkew Pkew Optimal Lifestyle
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
I mean, it wouldn't be a year in my life if there was no Riot Fest. Solo venture once again.
Not proud to say that I got winded immediately with this set. |
31 | | No Parents May The Thirst Be With You
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019 |
32 | | Caroline Rose Loner
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
She's so cool. She is money. |
33 | | Hot Water Music A Flight and a Crash
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019 |
34 | | Angel Du$t Pretty Buff
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
Yeah, so this was around the time I found out that Angel du$t AND Turnstile featured members from a hardcore band that was important in my early high school years, Trapped Under Ice. Further I had no idea that Trapped Under Ice were a legendary band even.
Anyway, Big Ass Love was the song of my fall, and this fucking ruled. |
35 | | Cock Sparrer Shock Troops
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
But oh my god not as much as this. I remember at this point being a bit drunk, and this band is what set the mood for the rest of the night for me. |
36 | | Violent Femmes Why Do Birds Sing?
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
Absolutely massive crowd, so big in fact that you couldn't really hear the music by standing at the edge of the crowd! I managed to get all the way up by the time they played American Music and I joined a circle of people arm in arm doing the leg kick dance. |
37 | | Rancid ...And Out Come the Wolves
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
So after I left Cock Sparrer, I realized I was seeing Rancid for the first time. I was drunk and I was having a good day so I decided to get over my self consciousness, and to finally crowd surf. And I finally did it, to Olympia, WA, with consent of course, and it was so much fun.
The set itself was absolute chaos, the mosh pit was relentless, there was naked people in there, I was bruised, it was sublime. |
38 | | Jawbreaker 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/13/2019
Big Banter Blake strikes again. Not nearly as good as their reunion set but still amazing. Once again crowd surfed to Kiss the Bottle. |
39 | | The Toxenes Electric Shock
Liar's Club Chicago, 9/13/2019
Earlier in the day I saw that this local band was playing an after party and yeah I was gonna support a local band. I didn't know that it was 25$ and the tiny venue was packed to the brim, but hell yeah. |
40 | | Murphy's Law Murphy's Law
Liar's Club, Chicago, 9/13/2019
This set was potentially the most chaotic set i've ever seen?? People were climbing over and hanging off of everything, the vocalist was in the crowd a bunch. They passed and burned through five bottles of Whiskey and Jag. Insanity. Perfect. |
41 | | Masked Intruder III
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
Always great live |
42 | | the HU The Gereg
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019 |
43 | | Turnstile Time and Space
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
I don't really like this band, but surely they'd be way better live. They were alright. hm. Their bassist is the star of the group though. |
44 | | GWAR America Must Be Destroyed
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
Finally saw Gwar, and it was certainly something else. |
45 | | Avail Over the James

Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
Over the James from front to back. |
46 | | Testament The New Order
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019 |
47 | | Microwave Death is a Warm Blanket
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
The sound was terrible :C |
48 | | Anthrax Among the Living
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019 |
49 | | Rise Against The Sufferer and the Witness
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019 |
50 | | Slayer Reign in Blood
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/14/2019
Slayer's final Chicago show. It was a stunning setlist complete with flamethrowers. They finished their set with Angel of Death, and afterwards Tom stood on the stage just staring out into the crowd for 15 minutes as he cried and was serenaded with chants. Just an incredibly emotionally charged moment I will never forget. |
51 | | Ramona Deals, Deals, Deals!
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019 |
52 | | Save Ferris It Means Everything
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
Adrienne is great, I don't care. |
53 | | White Reaper You Deserve Love
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019 |
54 | | Village People Live And Sleazy
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
Oh my god this was incredible. There was a huge dance pit throughout the entire set, and a wall of death to YMCA. Nonstop party. |
55 | | Against Me! Reinventing Axl Rose
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
Both Reinventing Axl Rose and Transgender Dysphoria Blues from front to back. It will always be incredible to see how much TDB means to people. And it was incredible seeing tracks I never thought I would see live such as Baby I'm an Anarchist in person. |
56 | | The B-52s Cosmic Thing
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
You'd think this would be a blast akin to the Village People.
But there were so many old people and wet blankets that refused to dance throughout almost the entire set. It took until their second to last song, Rock Lobster, for there to be any sort of party. The B-52s were marvelous though. |
57 | | Patti Smith Radio Ethiopia
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019 |
58 | | The Ergs! Dorkrockcorkrod
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
fun incarnate |
59 | | Bikini Kill Pussy Whipped
Riotfest 2019
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2019
One of the most memorable and important sets I think I've seen, it was so good. |

63 | | Uranium Club The Cosmo Cleaners
Extreme Noise 25th Anniversary
Uptown VFW, Minneapolis, 9/29/2019
Final set of the afternoon show, and I think this may be one of the best local sets I've ever seen. It was so mesmerizing and engaging. It was like i was hypnotized. Absolutely amazing, check them if they're ever in your area. |
64 | | Scrunchies Stunner
Extreme Noise 25th Anniversary
Uptown VFW, Minneapolis, 9/29/2019 |
65 | | Why Not friends.
The Garage, Burnsville, 9/30/2019 |
66 | | Field Mouse Meaning
The Garage, Burnsville, 9/30/2019 |
67 | | Defeater Defeater
The Garage, Burnsville, 9/30/2019
Dead sick this day, and it was somewhat melancholic seeing Defeater, a once huge hardcore band, playing a side room of an already small venue. It was still incredible, because Defeater is still great. |
68 | | Citric Dummies The Kids Are Alt-Right
Palmer's Bar, Minneapolis, 10/5/2019
Speedweed opened up for this show |
69 | | The Eradicator Peak Eradicator
Palmer's Bar, Minneapolis, 10/5/2019
Didn't know what this band was beforehand, and I'm not sure if I completely sure still. All I know is he was walking around the Bartop with a racket and a ski mask on and tearing shit up in a polo. This was all capped off with him running out of the bar and never returning. Perfection. |
70 | | The Brokedowns Sick Of Space
Palmer's Bar, Minneapolis, 10/5/2019
Brokedowns absolutely rule, but why did their set have to be only 20 minutes when they headline? Kind of disappointing, but it was fun regardless. |
71 | | Goblin Profondo Rosso
The Fitzgerald Theater, St. Paul, 10/10/2019
Every year i do a horror movie for every day of October, so Goblin preforming the soundtrack live with the Film playing on the big screen was perfect. After Deep Red ended, they played a bunch of their best songs from Dawn of the Dead and Suspria. |
72 | | Night Birds Roll Credits
The District, Sioux Falls, 10/11/2019
Friend roadtrip to South Dakota for a boonies show. |
73 | | Joyce Manor Cody
The District, Sioux Falls, 10/11/2019
Even better this time around |
74 | | Descendents Hypercaffium Spazzinate
The District, Sioux Falls, 10/11/2019
And this was the best time I have seen the Descendents. I finished up my night by passing out on top of my quesadilla I drunk ordered from Taco Bell. |
75 | | Lucie Silvas E.G.O.
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, 10/13/2019 |
76 | | Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Bad Reputation
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, 10/13/2019
The night I realized I like way less Joan Jett songs than I thought. She did a great cover of Androgynous though! |
77 | | Heart Little Queen
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, 10/13/2019
Yeah, so Heart does that cheesy song Alone? I didn't know that. |
78 | | Avengers Avengers
Inflammable Material Tour
Fine Line, Minneapolis, 10/14/2019 |
79 | | Stiff Little Fingers Inflammable Material
Inflammable Material Tour
Fine Line, Minneapolis, 10/14/2019
Fuck Yes. Inflammable Material from front to back. These guys are still kicking out badass shows like they're not ancient. Classic Album. |
80 | | Deep Purple Machine Head
The Armory, Minneapolis, 10/20/2019
I missed Highway Star so this was all for naught.
Also I felt like I was having a stroke because every word out of Ian's mouth made no sense when he was speaking. |
81 | | Culture Abuse Bay Dream
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, 10/29/2019
ooph. |
82 | | Tigers Jaw spin
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, 10/29/2019 |

Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, 10/29/2019

84 | | Peter Hook and the Light New Order's Technique & Republic Live at Koko Lond
First Ave, Minneapolis, 11/2/2019
Legit, Peter Hook and the Light was more fun and sounded better than seeing actual New Order live. It was a perfect night of New Order and Joy Division |
85 | | Paladin (USA) Ascension
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, 11/4/2019
free tickets to a metal show, my first in a long time it felt |
86 | | Inferi (USA) The End of an Era | Rebirth

Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, 11/4/2019
This was also mind melting |
88 | | Blood Banks Dear Tomorrow
Part Wolf Upstairs, Minneapolis, 11/9/2019
Back to comfort, Essentially a glorified house show and these guy's final set. |
89 | | Arms Aloft What a Time to Be Barely Alive
Part Wolf Upstairs, Minneapolis, 11/9/2019
And my first time seeing Arms Aloft. After the show I gained even more respect for these dudes. All of their stuff is for donation, vinyl included. All of their proceeds go to LGBTQ+ and planned parenthood, I had a good long drunken conversation with the drummer about politics and ended up leaving with a few patches and a french essay on cops. |
90 | | HURTER It Will Always Come Back
The Fallout, Minneapolis, 11/11/2019
Nothing like having your first ever show in sweat pants. They were still fantastic. |

The Fallout, Minneapolis, 11/11/2019
Dancey noise punk. Finally got to check these guys our and they are legit. |
92 | | Malevich Our Hollow
The Fallout, Minneapolis, 11/11/2019
Good band, those highs though live are not great. |
