best guitar tones 2

some more metal albums with cool guitar tones. might make a list of some cool jazz guitar tones some day too
1Disentomb
Misery

Thick, heavy, not overly bright, but very clear. Sorta slinks around like the batmobile.
2Disincarnate
Dreams of the Carrion Kind

Classic scooped mids era tone, but it fits this album super well. Feels much bassier and meatier than most tones of the era. James's lead tone is also pretty sweet on this one, bit clearer and less gainy than his earlier stuff.
3Death Angel
Act III

Pretty much the perfect middle ground tone for a thrash album. Not too much gain, not too much mids, not too little mids, nice and chunky. Good stuff.
4Accept
Balls to the Wall

This album is well produced all round but the tone on here is super solid. Hoffman's lead tone is also amazing here.
5Decapitated
Organic Hallucinosis

Weird solid state guitar tone but overall very well balanced, sufficiently nasty to have its own unique character whilst being pretty well tamed and not annoyingly fuzzy like a lot of similar setups.
6Jag Panzer
Age of Mastery

Big old spiky mids but it works well for this one, got a satisfying saturation on the chords and is a lot chunkier than one might expect for a relatively low gain tone with a style this lightweight.
7Deivos
Demiurge Of The Void

Mids city. Really grinding and abrasive, tonnes of power but clear enough for the relatively technical style of this album.
8Paradise Lost
Medusa

Pretty much the only exceptional aspect of the album, the spitty guitar tone here is really exceptional and lends a depth to the whole sound of the album that the other Paradise Lost albums don't really have.
9Kataklysm
In the Arms of Devastation

Boring band but the guitar tone here pulverizes
10Bloodbath
The Fathomless Mastery

Boring album, but the weird mix of HM-2 grind with leaner, cleaner tones allows for it to be a lot heavier on the relatively palm-mute heavy riffs here compared to the also very well produced Nightmares Made Flesh
