08.01.19 | pretty impressed with how timely this adaptation is. could you imagine it dropping at a better time than right after the big marvel announcement? btw i was pretty worried about how they were gonna handle all the misogynistic stuff in 2019 (like starlight's induction into the seven for example) but they did it quite tactfully, so that was impressive; also adds to the timeliness of the show.
yea good adaptation overall, nowhere near perfect but hella enjoyable and doesnt feel like a bastardization of the comics. agree that the changes from the comics were in good taste (usually i feel changes are poorly done, so this was refreshing), except maybe that last giant change...but we'll have to see about that.
i will say the show feels like its speedin right thru in comparison to the source material, which takes fuckin ages to pick up (imo the last few arcs are masterpieces but like the first half of the comic isnt that interesting story-wise). given the pacing of this season, i could almost see it ending after the next one. but more likely we'll see bigger changes as the show goes on.
