Best Of The Genres

The best album from each genre. And yeah, it's definitive. If you argue with me, you're retarded.
1Fugazi
Repeater

Post-Hardcore. Yes, I used to be a proponent for 13 Songs, but this is slowly becoming my favorite of the genre as well as my favorite from the band.
2Gorilla Biscuits
Start Today

Melodic Hardcore. Yes, I separated it into two genres because the differences are noticeable. Plus, I have a favorite from each side of the argument, which brings me to my next pick....
3Bad Brains
Bad Brains

Hardcore. Should this be considered black metal?
4Strapping Young Lad
City

Metal. Could also be considered industrial, but I'll leave that to another album....
5Ministry
Psalm 69

Industrial. One of the legends of the genre, plus I got to sit down and have a drink with Al the night after one of their shows in Fort Lauderdale.
6The Notorious B.I.G.
Ready to Die

Hip-Hop. The best release ever of the genre by the best lyricist we've ever encountered. Want to argue with me? I didn't think so....
7Isis
Oceanic

Post-Metal. Don't argue that Neurosis should be here, because they shouldn't. Expect me to expound on that?
8Paradise Lost
Draconian Times

Doom Metal. Where's My Dying Bride and Anathema, you ask? None of their releases touch the beauty and destruction that is Draconian Times.
9Eyehategod
Dopesick

Sludge. The best and most groundbreaking of the genre.
10Shai Hulud
Hearts Once Nourished

Metalcore. Yes, Integrity, Botch, Converge, and Deadguy were great, but this is the one that has stuck with me since it's release date. Landmark release for both the band and the genre.
