Official Eminem Power Rankings
Okay some of you need a real expert on Emineminology to tell you what ralbums to like, so I'm rrhere to help. My resume includes a total of 9 months rof listening to Eminem since I was rrprescribed painkillers for breaking my rankle.rNotice: I'm taking a shot after each summary. Let's rgo.
The Marshall Mathers LP
Just as funny as its predecessor, but it has a heart and isn't so one dimensional as
the other rap artists/albums that came before it. He changed the game, it wasn't
about gangsta shit anymore. The Sputnik staff review summarizes it very well. But at this point he became a god.
The Slim Shady LP
Hilarious, but immature. A great major label debut. This is where we see his spirit
emerge as an artist.
The Eminem Show
A great analogy for his newfound fame and influence. His albums are no longer individual
stories, they're an emulation of his life.
Only buttmad megatools hate this album. Scary as fuck, I needed to dig my Mr.
Funnybones out of storage to comfort me for the shit he was saying. The Hannibal
Lecter -esque calmness and the spine chilling premise. There are a few turds that I feel
like he was forced to make sound radio friendly, but otherwise, I enjoy this one.
A few great songs on this album, and the whole idea is that he doesn't give a fuck
about the whole business behind an album, but it gets old before you even expect it to.
Oh noes he's so out of control and edgy. Somehow I think the suicide at the end is an
analogy for his later overdose.
"I'm all squeaky clean and role modelly now guise." Purely for money. Watch Dre's "I
Need a Doctor" video and count the product placements and how fucking apparent they
I haven't even listened to this lol
All The Right Reasons
What the fuck this isnt even an eminem album
4 is really underrated.
i agree 4 should be 3
Honestly, I hated four. I tried, I just couldn't do it. I honestly think six and four should switch. Hate me if ya want.
recovery is awful
"i agree 4 should be 3"
"some of you need a real expert on Emineminology"
"I haven't even listened to this lol"
What really irks me is his trashing HIS OWN ALBUM in Recovery of Relapse. To me, that's just something you don't do. Unless it's actual contrition for his OWN effort and not what other people thought.
But if you thought your own album sucked, why would you release it? This is Em giving into the fucking groupthink critics.
The first lesson an artist should learn is to generally ignore critics, they're not good for you artistically. But as with everything else, nothing is black and white. It could be an honest opinion, or it could be venomous executives thinking eminem's return would squash their carefully hedged and trimmed small time artists they've invested so much forced advertising on...
just a drunkenly ironic arrogant joke, death :)
If Relapse didn't have the silly accent it would be up there with Mashall Mathers and Slim Shadey LP. The beats were great and the atmosphere dark, just the silly voice kind of ruined it
6 is 3
7 is great, the production and guest stops hold it back though. I haven't listened to 3,4,or 5 yet.
I broke my rankle once, it hurt like fuck
Lol I remember when recovery leaked and everyone(myself included) jus hit the hype train best em record since marshal mathers. Not the same story anymore ha. Fuck that album.
alcohol + internet = only bad things.
agree with most of the list though. don't know why all of the praise for Relapse, he was just trying to regain his "edge" after telling the world he got clean.
This list is correct, IMO - how I'd order it, besides Infinite, which is his fourth best - but since you haven't heard that one, well... Listen to it!
