06.10.13 | how have you already read 5 books this summer? I can't even get through 100 pages of Richard Ford's 'The Sportswriter' without procrastinating |

06.10.13 | I thought Everything Matters! was pretty good. The whole thing with cancer was kind of ridiculous, but I enjoyed it a lot. |

06.10.13 | My comment from another book list:
Denis Johnson - Train Dreams. A smoky novella about the American Midwest.
Deborah Levy - Black Vodka. Ten gorgeous short-stories about love and loss.
Keith Ridgeway - Hawthorne and Child. A quirky and very funny detective novel, featuring lots of weird characters and plenty of gay sex.
Glenn Patterson - The International. A tense and excellent story about a hotel, set during the beginning of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.
I hope you'll check out one or two of those. These book lists tend to regurgitate the same canonical texts, but sometimes its good to go off the beaten path. |

06.10.13 | I'm definitely gonna check out The Fifty Year Sword. I just finished reading The Shining and the Road. The Shining was incredible, but the Road was a disappointment for me. Currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire and American Gods. |
