500 Ratings // Top 50 Lps

I joined this site as a wee high school freshman and rated about 80 albums, which was most of the music I had at the time. Now I'm graduating in a few months and I have 500. So here's my top 10%:
50Brand New
Deja Entendu

A few months ago I started listening to Deja Entendu as a satire of early 2000?s pop-
punk, not sure if that?s how it?s supposed to be done but it?s a really interesting way of
approaching the lyrics.
49The Replacements
Let It Be

Androgynous
48The Microphones
The Glow Pt.2

existentialism and stuff
47Sun Kil Moon
Ghosts of the Great Highway

poise and beauty and killing people
46Wilco
Summerteeth

pop done right
45Modest Mouse
This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To..

I usually forget how good this is because of M&A and LCW but then I listen to it
44My Bloody Valentine
Loveless

token Loveless
43Radiohead
The Bends

I listen to this probably more than any other Radiohead album
42The Olivia Tremor Control
Dusk at Cubist Castle

RIP Bill Doss
41Boards of Canada
Geogaddi

the loss of innocence from Music Has the Right to Children is startling
40Modest Mouse
The Lonesome Crowded West

if every indie album had this as a primary influence things would be so much more
interesting
39Emery
...In Shallow Seas We Sail

believe it or not the first album I ever got into with screams. was very fortunate to
start with post-hardcore?s finest!
38Sunny Day Real Estate

clowns, animals, etc.
33Los Campesinos!
Hold On Now, Youngster...

anything but annoying
32Manchester Orchestra
Mean Everything to Nothing

even though it rips off The Mountain Goats and Neutral Milk Hotel
31Sunny Day Real Estate
Diary

so much angst
30The Tallest Man on Earth
The Wild Hunt

I WANNA BE THAAAAAAAAAAAAA
29Gospel

25Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

it?s pretty good

Laughing Stock

For some reason I always listen to this after concerts. I finally listened to it again not
in this context and was even more blown away.

17The National
Boxer

as terrifying as it is endearing
16Pedro the Lion
It's Hard to Find a Friend

I view three albums as ever taking on the roles of ?lenses? through which I see the
world. The themes and lyrics come to mind in important or emotional times, the
melodies find their way through my head when I?m faced with a choice. This was the
second.
15The Gaslight Anthem
The 59 Sound

seeing Gaslight for the first time in a couple weeks, hoping Brian Fallon still cares
