12.27.13 | just shy of 100, not too bad. Artwork fuck ups for a few as expected as the database throws a bitch fit with the characters in the titles. How is everyone doing this black evening? |

12.27.13 | I've always been curious about tapes. It seems like kind of a novelty format to me though. Obviously you disagree, hah. How gaping is the sound quality difference? |
MoosechriS
12.27.13 | I started buying tapes when i started getting more into underground bm and realised the amount of stuff released on tape or vinyl exclusively was staggering. Also i have a rule that is essentially if i can't afford to buy something i won't listen to it (within reason) as i always prefer to buy bands releases instead of downloading them.
The quality depends on how good the dubs are to be honest, pro tapes obviously sound good but some of the DIY stuff can sound like utter shit. But in the realm of black metal and death metal the slightly muddy feel that comes from tapes is normally a good thing. Although i can imagine other forms of music may not be complimented by the format, i grew up with tapes though so i love them anyways. I understand the novelty thing as some more mainstream labels are currently jumping on the tape and vinyl mini resurgence that is currently going on. |

12.27.13 | Frankly I wouldn't be into vinyl were it not for the popular resurgence. Or I guess I should say, I had no idea people still listened to records and had no intent to pay for something as flimsy as a CD. So do they still send interesting shit with cassettes as bands often do with records? |

12.27.13 | Some do, my Rh-11 tape was a first press of 50 tapes that came with a pin badge and a full sized poster of the artwork. The Shataan tape came with a hand made arrow head. A few of the others came with things like pins and posters too. The paysage d'hiver tape came in what was basically a shoebox with tons of promotional cd's promotional posters for paysage d'hiver and other bands on the label as well.
I am a collector at heart and will always buy this stuff whether it be on cd, tape, vinyl or any other bizarre format. I just love music and started doing this when i got my first stereo at the age of 5, i've just never stopped. |

12.27.13 | Hmmm I may have to start looking into tape decks. Purely for very necro shit of course. I imagine most other types of music don't translate to tape so well. |
