InFiction 07.24.12	I think Alaska is their best, followed by The Silent Circus. Mind you, Colors is probably the best example of what they have to offer. I'd say go with Colors if you haven't heard it, and if that doesn't do anything for you, go for Alaska and then The Silent Circus. All their albums are a bit different from one another.

Winrar 07.24.12	Listen to the last half of Colors. The album only gets good during 'Ants of the sky' and beyond. If you actually enjoyed it, listen to The Parallax hypersleex dialogues and skip Augment of Rebirth because that track is awful.

SmokingTheClouds 07.24.12	The Great Misdirect was a pile of bland monotony with some cool parts sprinkled throughout. The issue that is prevalent for BTBAM at the moment is that on "The Silent Circus" & "Alaska" their heavier moments were what solidified their soundscape. However, everything after "Colors" turned upside down. Suddenly the softer, more progressively experimenting sections were their best. And the heavy sections just tend to lean to boring. For getting into the band, I think "Colors" is probably the best bet. There is some issue with cohesive song composition. Some rather weird transition that feel forced, etc. But, it holds the best combination between their old sound and new. Normally, I'd be inclined to say "Alaska". But, when I think back and re-listen, I can tell the vocals would be a turn-off for first time listeners. Specifically the title track, "Alaska". Tommy is just all over the place. "Backwards Marathon" on the other-hand...

It's more of a collection of songs rather than consistent and flowing effort like Colors or whatever else. And because of that it's probably their easiest album to listen to.

Keyblade 07.25.12	Never dug any of their albums fully, but they have a few cool songs like Selkies and Mordecai. Prequel to the Sequel from Colors is a good one as well, minus the ridiculous polka breakdown.
