06.24.12 | Listen to The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. These are their most accessible and straightforward works yet. Still, if you like that 90s alternative rock sound (albeit in a less polished way) listen to Clouds Taste Metallic or Transmissions From The Satellite Heart. If you like psychedelia and experimental stuff listen to Embryonic (it's a double album) or The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends.
I haven't listened to their 80s output, so I might miss out something. These guys are really cool. |

06.24.12 | They´re a really, really great band. If I had to pigeon hole them into a genre, I guess I´d say "psychedelic alt rock." They´re really good melody-writers, and their lyrics are full of simple, but brilliant observations, oftentimes on the concept of love. The Soft Bulletin is definitely their best. |
