| It's Going To Be So Difficult
to rank all of this years albums. So much good material, I could make this a list of 50 albums. I'll give it a shot at, say, 15 albums. Also, first list in a long time. | 15 | | Nachtmystium Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. 2
I never really got into these guys until this album, and boy was I missing out. The black metal/electronic stuff just hits the right spot every time. | 14 | | Rosetta A Determinism Of Morality
With Isis gone, Rosetta are still here to continue giving us awesome post-metal records. | 13 | | letlive Fake History
Album is incredible, it's a wonder more people haven't heard of them. | 12 | | Journal Unlorja
A monster of a concept album, ending with the ambitious 30 minute track "Affinity", everyone should give this a listen. | 11 | | Secret And Whisper Teenage Fantasy
Their vocalist might be one of my favorites in the music scene nowadays. The instruments on this are almost as equally awesome. | 10 | | Decrepit Birth Polarity
We didn't have to wait as long for a third album by these guys, Polarity is more of the same as "Diminishing Between Worlds", which is a very good thing. | 9 | | Hour Of Penance Paradogma
Best Brutal Death Metal release of the year by far, this album culminates in the fantastic, different track "Apotheosis". | 8 | | Ion Dissonance Cursed
A return to form by the mathcore masters, after the deathcore album Minus The Herd. | 7 | | Kvelertak Kvelertak
This album combines hardcore, punk, and black metal to form a combo that is surprisingly delicious. Can't get enough of this now. | 6 | | Fleshwrought Dementia/Dyslexia
The newest album on the list, this album is a monster of progressive death metal, with JFAC vocalist and a former Animosity member. Death Metal needs more saxophones. | 5 | | Lostprophets The Betrayed
A personal choice for me, Lostprophets were my favorite band for the longest time and this album has them returning to their roots. | 4 | | Dead Letter Circus This Is The Warning
This is this years "Sound Awake". Meaning, most likely will be the best progressive rock record of the year. | 3 | | Immolation Majesty And Decay
This one almost takes down Close To A World Below for best Immolation album. | 2 | | Periphery Periphery
One of the best debut albums in recent memory. | 1 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
My favorite album of the year, from my favorite band. So energetic and chaotic, it deserves no other place but this one. It'll take a beast of an album to dethrone this. | |
