It's Going To Be So Difficult

to rank all of this years albums. So much good material, I could make this a list of 50 albums. I'll give it a shot at, say, 15 albums. Also, first list in a long time.
15Nachtmystium
Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. 2

I never really got into these guys until this album, and boy was I missing out. The black metal/electronic stuff just hits the right spot every time.
14Rosetta
A Determinism Of Morality

With Isis gone, Rosetta are still here to continue giving us awesome post-metal records.
13letlive
Fake History

Album is incredible, it's a wonder more people haven't heard of them.
12Journal
Unlorja

A monster of a concept album, ending with the ambitious 30 minute track "Affinity", everyone should give this a listen.
11Secret And Whisper
Teenage Fantasy

Their vocalist might be one of my favorites in the music scene nowadays. The instruments on this are almost as equally awesome.
10Decrepit Birth
Polarity

We didn't have to wait as long for a third album by these guys, Polarity is more of the same as "Diminishing Between Worlds", which is a very good thing.
9Hour Of Penance
Paradogma

Best Brutal Death Metal release of the year by far, this album culminates in the fantastic, different track "Apotheosis".
8Ion Dissonance
Cursed

A return to form by the mathcore masters, after the deathcore album Minus The Herd.
7Kvelertak
Kvelertak

This album combines hardcore, punk, and black metal to form a combo that is surprisingly delicious. Can't get enough of this now.
6Fleshwrought
Dementia/Dyslexia

The newest album on the list, this album is a monster of progressive death metal, with JFAC vocalist and a former Animosity member. Death Metal needs more saxophones.
5Lostprophets
The Betrayed

A personal choice for me, Lostprophets were my favorite band for the longest time and this album has them returning to their roots.
4Dead Letter Circus
This Is The Warning

This is this years "Sound Awake". Meaning, most likely will be the best progressive rock record of the year.
3Immolation
Majesty And Decay

This one almost takes down Close To A World Below for best Immolation album.
2Periphery
Periphery

One of the best debut albums in recent memory.
1The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

My favorite album of the year, from my favorite band. So energetic and chaotic, it deserves no other place but this one. It'll take a beast of an album to dethrone this.
