7 was pretty cool. I haven't seen the rest so I can't speak for their soundtracks.
damn i love every Ghost in the Shell soundtrack
Kids on the Slope, The End of Evangelion, The Garden of Words, FLCL, Monogatari and Samurai Champloo all have pretty cool soundtracks too
Monster, Death Note, Air and Trinity Blood are some of my favourites.
Samouraï Champloo ftw
I've heard all these except for 1 and 8, and the one's I've heard were great, though my favorite soundtracks were probably fate/zero, Champloo and Welcome to the N.H.K. Zankyou no Terror is a currently airing show with Yoko doing the ost and the music is fantastic so far, for those that loved GitS and Bebop osts
Mushishi had/has amazing music, easily some of the best in the anime.
For those who don't know, in addition to the themes and background music, each episode has a unique recurring melody. Every single one in both series is a great tune, adds it a LOT to the show.
never heard of Mushishi but it looks fantastic downloading now
Be prepared for one of the greatest things ever to grace the screen.
Mushishi had/has amazing music, easily some of the best in anime.
If anyone's heard of the anime Kotoura-san (came out last year), that has a heartbreaking soundtrack
5 rules and knowing the music just from watching the show I'm sure 9 and 10 rule
The Cowboy Bebop OST has to be the most creative and awesome I've yet heard. Not even just in anime, but it's right up there in all soundtrackness.
The new soundtrack for Zankyou no Terror is pretty awesome, Yoko Kanno wrote the music for it with some guest artists.
Yuki Kaijura did awesome music for a bunch of series like Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai, Pandora Hearts, Madoka.
Hiroyuki is doing the soundtrack for Aldnoah.Zero.
Mind if I chime in here a bit?
Zankyou on Terror has an amazing soundtrack as others have said.
Definitely check out some of Joe Hisashi and Tenmons work (ex: Spirited Away and 5 Centimeters Per Second).
Yuki Kaijura is a genius.
SnK soundtrack is godly
I feel like bumping this. Taku Iwasaki did a zazzy job with the Soul Eater OST; I liked the overall vibe it had going for it and everything. Though there's a love-or-hate relationship going on between me and Bleach, the soundtrack by Shiro Sagisu's pretty awesome as well. I could listen to Nothing Can be Explained for days and suddenly space out.
Hooray for 4.
Nujabes and Shing02's work on the Champloo soundtrack remains my fave.
nujabes/fat jon - samurai champloo ost
naoki sato - eureka seven ost
