RA Dickey will never again be as good as he was in 2012. Does anybody remember last time he played in the American League? I distinctly remember the Tigers going yard off him six times (Craig Monroe twice) in like 4 innings.

FromDaHood 02.13.13	I wasn't talking in terms of raw stats; I would argue that Justin Verlander was a better pitcher in 2012 than in 2011 but his stats didn't necessarily back it up. I guess what I was trying to say is Dickey is nowhere near as good as people think he is. People thought Rick Ankiel was really damn good after reinventing himself in the minors but now he's... back in the minors re-reinventing himself. I just don't see Dickey having sustained success.

americanohno 02.13.13	Reasoning for mets and reds predictions: I'm not sure mets improved their team for 2013 (although the future's bright) and I don't think they were as good as their 2012 record indicated. I can't find last year's pythag records but I was pretty sure they won more than runs scored - runs allowed would indicate. And the reds don't really have a centerfielder. I'm not sure how big of a problem this is going to be, and it is certainly better than having drew stubbs/zack cozart lead off which is what they were doing last year. and votto should be uninjured and chapman will be pitching 180+ innings instead of 60 (that is if everything goes as planned but this being baseball it often doesn't). and really i needed one surprse pick to underperform expectations and the reds are my pick to do that. Also Justin Upton isn't a fat sack of shit so while he may never turn into the star some predict he'll never become Delmon Young. And I'd be really surprised if Rick Ankiel doesn't make it as the Astros 4th outfielder. however your point does remain seeing as being the 4th outfielder on the worst team in baseball is far and away from being an all star. that said last year wasn't a one year flash in the pan for Dickey. That was his 3rd straight year of being a good starting pitcher.
Macros 02.13.13	My prediction is that baseball will continue to be a rubbish sport. Why is the deciding series called the World Series when its played between two teams from one country? Personally I'd like to see the winners take on the Cape Town Lions, or whatever. The same goes for American Football; only Americans would be arrogant enough to call the champions of a sport thats only popular in their country the 'World Champions.'
Dodecahedron 02.13.13	The league is US-based, but the players are scouted from all around the world; it's kind of like the world's premier league for baseball. Because of this, it's not too far-fetched to call the championship series the World Series, but I can see how it would seem a little arrogant for the team that wins to call themselves the world champions. Also, baseball is not only popular in the US. I'd love for you to take a trip to the Dominican Republic, Japan, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba, or even Mexico. It's really popular in all of those countries too.

Although Tulo is on his yearly trip to the DL so things could fall apart soon, but The Wizard is joining the rotation today so maybe it all evens out. And I had no idea the Red Sox where going to be a monster this year but in fairness to me Cherington keeps making stupid bullpen related decisions so I think I was right to doubt them.
