02.12.13 | hell ya the Jays are taking the AL East. fuckin Jah knows we deserve it |
americanohno
02.12.13 | @ fromdahood
that rotation is still really good. Utley and Howard might be uninjured. I like Ben Revere
78-80 wins may be more likely though. I sort of forgot they signed Delmon young and are planning on having him start. |

02.12.13 | Orioles will win the world series. Quote me. |
nononsense
02.12.13 | Angels vs Braves in the World Series.
Athletics, Orioles, Reds, Washington, Dodgers and Tigers also have a chance. White Sox and Giants will win their respective
wild cards.
Don't sleep on the Indians either. |

02.12.13 | the angels are just gonna disappoint like every other LA superteam fuck |
theacademy
02.12.13 | also, your mets number is way off... just look at the numbers... theres no way they go from a 74 win
team to a 66 win team that would be retarded |
theacademy
02.12.13 | in the same vein, there's no way the Reds win 7 fewer games this season. They're better in every single possible way. |
nononsense
02.12.13 | The Indians had a good offseason, but not the best. The Braves, Angels and Dodgers had much better off seasons. |
Dodecahedron
02.12.13 | In the AL: Angels, Tigers, Jays
In the NL: Dodgers, Reds, Nats
Hoping the Angels can actually pull it together this year and not get off to such a horrible start. |

02.13.13 | I predict that baseball will be boring as usual |

02.13.13 | Kevin towers FUCKED UP the diamondbacks. Im sure the bauer and upton trades will go down as some of the worst ever. Im so pissed, not even sure if i'll watch them this year.
Academy, theres no way in hell they will finish in last place though. Why would you put them behind the rockies and pads? |
KSK1
02.13.13 | I also predict that "baseball" will continue to be one word |

02.13.13 | The Tigers should just get handed the AL Central division title on the first day of the season, what a terrible division. |
Dodecahedron
02.13.13 | And I wouldn't go so far as to say that "only rednecks think baseball is boring", but rather people with short attention spans. |
FromDaHood
02.13.13 | Two wild predictions that will certainly come true:
1. Justin Upton will turn into Delmon Young. Maybe not this year, but it will happen
2. RA Dickey will never again be as good as he was in 2012. Does anybody remember last time he played in the American League? I distinctly remember the Tigers going yard off him six times (Craig Monroe twice) in like 4 innings. |
FromDaHood
02.13.13 | It definitely is but I think 1 is hilarious so I want it to happen more |
theacademy
02.13.13 | Hood: you remember pre-knuckleball dickey... honestly its nbd to say hell never be that good again cuz he was like one good game away from the triple crown in a cy young winning season... would be tough for anyone to repeat that... that having been said I still think/hope he will be good
Also loldelmon |
FromDaHood
02.13.13 | I wasn't talking in terms of raw stats; I would argue that Justin Verlander was a better pitcher in 2012 than in 2011 but his stats didn't necessarily back it up. I guess what I was trying to say is Dickey is nowhere near as good as people think he is. People thought Rick Ankiel was really damn good after reinventing himself in the minors but now he's... back in the minors re-reinventing himself. I just don't see Dickey having sustained success. |
FromDaHood
02.13.13 | That said, I've been rooting for him ever since that game in 2006 when he got shelled and I hope I'm wrong |
americanohno
02.13.13 | Reasoning for mets and reds predictions:
I'm not sure mets improved their team for 2013 (although the future's bright) and I don't think they were as good as their 2012 record indicated. I can't find last year's pythag records but I was pretty sure they won more than runs scored - runs allowed would indicate.
And the reds don't really have a centerfielder. I'm not sure how big of a problem this is going to be, and it is certainly better than having drew stubbs/zack cozart lead off which is what they were doing last year. and votto should be uninjured and chapman will be pitching 180+ innings instead of 60 (that is if everything goes as planned but this being baseball it often doesn't). and really i needed one surprse pick to underperform expectations and the reds are my pick to do that.
Also Justin Upton isn't a fat sack of shit so while he may never turn into the star some predict he'll never become Delmon Young.
And I'd be really surprised if Rick Ankiel doesn't make it as the Astros 4th outfielder. however your point does remain seeing as being the 4th outfielder on the worst team in baseball is far and away from being an all star.
that said last year wasn't a one year flash in the pan for Dickey. That was his 3rd straight year of being a good starting pitcher.

02.13.13 | My prediction is that baseball will continue to be a rubbish sport. Why is the deciding series called the World Series when its played between two teams from one country? Personally I'd like to see the winners take on the Cape Town Lions, or whatever. The same goes for American Football; only Americans would be arrogant enough to call the champions of a sport thats only popular in their country the 'World Champions.' |
Dodecahedron
02.13.13 | The league is US-based, but the players are scouted from all around the world; it's kind of like the
world's premier league for baseball. Because of this, it's not too far-fetched to call the
championship series the World Series, but I can see how it would seem a little arrogant for the team
that wins to call themselves the world champions.
Also, baseball is not only popular in the US. I'd love for you to take a trip to the Dominican
Republic, Japan, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Cuba, or even Mexico. It's really popular in all of those
countries too. |

06.20.13 | Yeah fuck the Dodgers and Angels (also to a lesser extent the Brewers and White Sox who i Thought would be mediocre but have been just marginally better than the Marlins and Astros)
Also I knew I should not have counted out a team w. CarGo(onzales in honor of the other CarGo(omez) showing he deserves the nickname too) and Tulo on it. Although Tulo is on his yearly trip to the DL so things could fall apart soon, but The Wizard is joining the rotation today so maybe it all evens out.
And I had no idea the Red Sox where going to be a monster this year but in fairness to me Cherington keeps making stupid bullpen related decisions so I think I was right to doubt them. |
