Songs For Sunday 9: Pancakes On A Day That Should Be Rainy But Goddamn Here Comes That Fucking Sun
just some thoughts on sume music doodes. |
1 | | Souled American Fe
"Notes Campfire" - This band's music is pretty damn hard to acquire. All their Cds are expensive as hell on Amazon and you can't find any legal place to download their mp3s I did however find a less than legal way to get my ears on their debut album 'Fe'. It's a good record, a damn fine country record i tell ya what. I'd like to hear their later Low-sounding records but I don't got 30 dollars in the budget right now for a cd. |
2 | | The Mekons Fear and Whiskey
"Last Dance" |
3 | | Little Feat Dixie Chicken
"Roll Um Easy" - This might be my favorite song of ever. |
4 | | Johnny Jenkins Ton-Ton Macoute!
"I Walk on Gilded Splinters" - This is the place where soul, blues and country rub up against each other in orgiastic delight. |
5 | | The Slackers The Question
"And I Wonder?" - I'm gonna review this on munday night for that review game thing, I dig this a lot but have been busy and shit and I could review it today but I need my lazy sundays and shit y'know... |
6 | | Jimbo Mathus and The Tri-State Coalition White Buffalo
"Poor Lost Souls" - This record just came out. It's a southern rock record from that guy from the Squirrel Nut Zippers that neo-ragtime band that inexplicably had a hit song in the mid-90s. I'd recommend it, it's a quality record. |
7 | | the Mekons OOOH! (Out of Our Heads)
"Thee Old Trip to Jerusalem" - this song is amazing. |
8 | | Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Plastic Fang
"She Said" |
9 | | Johnny Cash Ragged Old Flag
"Lonesome to the Bone" |
10 | | Emmylou Harris Pieces of the Sky
"Bluebird Wine" |
11 | | The Cars Candy-O
"Lust for Kicks" |
12 | | Drunk Raised Toward
"Epiphany of Saint Thomas" |
