Albums To Be Excited About This Year!!
The top 10 new releases I am looking forward too in what will hopefully prove to be a bumper year! |
1 | | Joanna Newsom Have One On Me
I could barely contain my excitment upon hearing that Joanna was releasing her third album in February, and so I could scarcely believe my eyes when I read is to be a triple album. Not a double album. A TRIPLE ALBUM. Please God make this true. |
2 | | Fleet Foxes TBA
The best band out there as far as I am concerned, having heard a few newbies live I can't wait for this album, hopefully out mid-late 2010 |
3 | | The Low Anthem TBA
Amazing group - so diverse - again, having heard a few new ones live I have high hopes for the Rhode Island quartets (just added a fourth member) new one. |
4 | | Arcade Fire TBA
Arguably THE big release of the alternative rock world this year. Having released two albums already that nearly caused critics to destroy music sites with their spunk this third one should be treated with extreme caution...fuck it, it is pretty damn exciting. |
5 | | Band of Horses TBA
Not sure of any 'official' word on a new album, but songs have been floating around and they are due one. Another great band. |
6 | | Bright Eyes TBA
The final bow for the Bright Eyes moniker is due this year from Conor Oberst. Lets make it a good one. |
7 | | Radiohead TBA
The only band that could ruin Arcade Fire's big moment. If an album is released as is expected it will no doubt be huge. Hopefully it will live up to the hype too. |
8 | | Johnny Flynn TBA
I have mixed opinions of the new songs thusfar released but he is massively talented and this will surely be a worthwhile purchase. |
9 | | Iron & Wine TBA
Another one which I would expect to see this year, though Sub Pop have not been making much noise about it yet. Phenomenally talented, and no doubt hugely popular since Twilight, another massive release. |
10 | | Cat Power TBA
Back to her own material, and back to being a solo artist. A return to the sound of early stuff like Moon Pix would not really work, but she is a great songwriter so this could be an album to pick up. |
